I don't think it's confirmed yet.  I heard that it's the most powerful NA V8 in a ford, wasn't the GT350 NA with over 500hp?  Regardless, it'll be enough power to have some fun.

penchant for plowing people on public property presented a problem for which only a preposterous proboscis proposed by the product planners at PlayShool, precisely for added protection of said public, was the purpose of said plastic preposterousity.  Pbpbpbpbpbpbb....

Yea the GT350 had 526 hp.  In the video then indicate 500+ for the Dark Horse and 480+ for the regular GT.

Yeah it’s all a bit vague, so will have to wait and see what the real official numbers are likely a while from now.

Just confirms that the 2.3T is mainly bought by people who don't know how to drive a stick.

The lighter weight of that tandem made for a fun sports car vibe. If the next gen is electric as predicted, there simply won't be a transmission anymore.

Didn't realize that – that's too bad, but I guess kind of expected at the same time.

I think Ford is planning on phasing out the V8 and manual over this generation of Mustang, but maybe that might have changed due to the success of other EV's they sell offsetting the fuel mileage of the ICE Mustang.  Likely the generation after in 8 years or so will likely have some form of electrification.

Looks like there will be a $3k to $4k price increase across the board for the new Mustang.  So the Dark Horse should start around $75k.  I’m basing this off the US price increases.

I hope they increase the quality of the fit and finish because the last gen was marginal at best.

What happened to cheap muscle cars?

LOL, I love how you ask for better fit and finish and then immediately ask what happened to the cheap muscle car.  Ummm, what do you want, cheap or nice, you can’t have both.

You literally just qualified what I was saying.  The Mustang is neither cheap, nor nice.  Either give it decent fit and finish for $75K or price it at $40K and keep the marginal quality.

You sure you are an accountant?

I have sat in the previous generation and the generation before that, not to mention the two prior.  If you think the current generation had a bad interior and fit and finish, you should go back to the other gens to see just how far they have gone.  If you are expecting German or Japanese levels of fit and finish you are going to be really disappointed.  If however you are looking for a muscle car with sports car traits first and foremost, it’ll have that in abundance.

I disagree.

Your Si is both (though not a muscle car)

The point being, at certain price points I expect "nice".

I had a 1987 Notchback.  5.0 with manual, 3.73 rear end and roll up windows.  The interior quality was horrid but at $11K, or the price of an Accord at the time, I didn't give a crap as much.

But the current gen Mustang has other issues.  Most have misaligned body panels, crooked hoods, etc.  It isn't the quality of plastics used that gives me pause - it is how it is screwed together.

I wouldn’t exactly call my Civic cheap, not when you look at previous generation costs, or the GLI/GTI, Mazda 3.

All it has to do is look good, sound good, and go like stink.  The price increase I chalk up to inflation.  At $75k for the dark horse the only vehicle that will be as fast might be a base model C8 and the last of the Camaro ZL1.

I think your Civic is a relatively cheap car.

But when you sit in it, you don't say "wow, this feels kinda cheap"

Whereas that's what I'd probably say sitting in a $75k Mustang with the current interior.
