2024 Jeep Recon

This looks really neat. No powertrain details, but it has a retractable roof, removable doors, and locking diffs.

There's also a Wagoneer EV, which is mid sized and has 600 hp and 400 miles of range.

Now that is right up my alley.  Since our Outback rarely if ever strays more than 50km from home, this would be an ideal commuter for my wife / main family car, with the Pilot handling long road trip duties.  Interesting.

We had the exact same thoughts when replacing the Vibe. Keep the RX for long trips, get an electric for town

But with nothing available for the foreseeable future, a new gasser is what worked for now

It will hold us over until these electrics get available and reasonably priced plus the bugs worked out. Less likely to freeze solid in winter/burn like torches/etc

Makes sense.  My wife is extremely reluctant to go all-electric, which buys us some time for the market to mature a bit more.
