Fun speculation and rendering by Motor Trend, but it would make sense from a business perspective. When I reviewed a Camaro a couple years ago, nobody I met was aware that a new Camaro was still sold. Making it an EV would place it front and center in the hot sport sedan segment.

I know eventually all vehicles will be EV's, but my hope was always that the sports cars and fun cars would be the last to make the switch.  Seems like more and more the speculation is these sport vehicles will be made into EV's before things like compacts, minivans, full size SUV's, etc. 

I know people will buy them and that's great, I just really can't get excited about an EV.  As a commuter, sure, but as a "fun" vehicle, not in the least.

If Porsche can make the next gen 718 that is supposedly all EV fun to drive, then I don't care if it's powered by gas/petrol, electricity, or unicorn farts.  Just hoping the pricing is not an order of magnitude higher than the present model.

It's just a name plate.  What does "sporty" even mean these days     What good is a Porsche DSG in a province where the speed limit on country back roads is 80 kph with  latitude up to 102 kph by MOST cops.  Can't even get out of 2nd gear.     The Miata drivers of the world will be having the last laugh.  I'd would have had one years ago if I could only fit.

No doubt GM will follow Ford and bastardize the Camaro name plate.   It's the logical thing to do.

I am spoiled having lots of scenic, twisty back roads on my doorstep.  And not a cop to be seen.

We are just blanketed by OPP detachments in a very low crime area so the cops are ordered to do something with their time while cruising.  Last night I got detoured on my route 30 km route from my cottage back to Owen Sound (1 road, triple lane in some places).  Learned today that it was a head on.  One dead, more critical.  Very typical motor vehicle accident in these parts.

Consequently, the pressure from above will come down and they'll be out enforcing extra hard for a while and then it will die down.

V8, manual RWD coupe, thats a Camaro. Why not call this horrid thing a Nova, I mean you already ruined that nameplate in the 80s when you made it a Corolla.

I like silent power and would be happy with a 300-400 HP RWD sedan, whether it's called a Camaro or anything else.
