I think it’s fascinating that the Audi has a reversed staggered tire set up.  Not sure that any other stock vehicle has that.

Only other one I'm aware of is the W body Pontiac Grand Prix GXP.

Did the other W body V8 cars have a reverse staggered setup too?

Not sure, but it would make sense since theyre basically badge engineered versions of each other.

A bit late with my update since I'm now over 6,000 kms but here is my 5,000 KM update!  Overall loving the car so far and have come to realize that if you want a fast car that basically draws zero attention this is the perfect automobile.  I went to our local Euro car show and when I was at the entrance the guy says to me.... what's that an A4?

The car is definitely geared towards civilized driving more than uncivilized whereas my prior BMW 440 was the opposite.  You need to put all the settings in sport and also put the transmission in sporty mode beyond that to make it really sporty.  The sound is great but not at the obnoxious level of the 440 with the sport exhaust, hard to get a good snap or crackle out of it even though it does have the sport exhaust but the five-cylinder symphony itself sounds beautiful.  There is noticeable turbo lag in anything but the sportiest mode at which point it is minimal but once she's going it is a little rocket ship.  I haven't come close to exploring the full power potential. The brakes are awesome, full stop, and with the offset wider front tires it's like point and shoot but the steering feel itself is relatively light even in sport mode.

Fuel economy is a solid 10L/100 to date and that is driving spirited 75% of the time, drive it normally and it's easy to get in the 8's combined.  Being a small car things like parking and maneuverability are great, the sound system is excellent, and tech is more than enough for my needs.  Seats are comfortable and supportive for longer runs and so far no complaints from back seat passengers on short trips.

All in all a great little car and I am happy with my purchase. It's more of a grown-ups car than the 440, but every now and then I still long for that obnoxious 440 exhaust note.

Great car and interesting perspective.  I would have thought the 440 would be the more grown up car but there you go.

Great car and one that sounds like it suits you really well.  It'll be interesting to hear your impressions of it during the winter months and how it handles that.  With it being FWD based and the 440 being RWD it should be somewhat different feeling.  Those fuel economy numbers are very solid, what would your 440 had achieved in similar driving?

Thanks yes I am very pleased with the fuel economy numbers, and can't wait to take her out in the snow.  The 440 was right around the same fuel economy wise.

Haven't Audi's always leaned to the refined edge of the spectrum?

Maybe, but the RS3 is a smaller car, and the RS line is more equivalent to BMW's M line whereas the 440i would be akin to an Audi S model.

Maybe what I meant was that I feel like more of a grown up driving my non-descript white Audi RS3 than my Black, tinted window, performance sport exhaust snorting 440.

Yea, the RS3 is under the radar.

Not an overly showy or loud hot car.

Makes sense! I see 440i's around & they just look too big to me & not that sporty looking.... spot an RS3 it looks like it's ready to pounce!

Amazing vehicle. Thanks for the update.

I do agree on the 4 series being bloaty. A 2 series is perfect in size for a sporty coupe and is more of a competitor to the S3/RS3. Its a shame BMW won't bring the 2 series hatch to North America. Instead, we got a 2 series gran coupe...  :shake:

I really enjoyed my BMW M240 (I think the coolest car I've ever had) and agree the 2 series gran coupe is maybe the worst idea ever.  I forgot to mention I also like having 4 doors instead of 2.  I wish I had a different colour but a good wrap is running around $4K these days.
