They are still selling at a rate of ~200k cars per year in the US.

But why?! They should spend their time trying to figure out how to electrify their fleet…

Sedans are dead…not worth dumping more investment $$$ on them.

As every other manufacturer drops out of the large sedan market, the existing sedans will be able to gobble up that market share.  Shrinking marketshare, to be fair, but still a larger piece of a smaller pie.

I think with the Accord, Honda clearly makes THE best mid-size/large sedan.  They'll be in this segment for a good long while to come.

I highly doubt they will even break into 200s this year…
The market is in a constant shrinking state with more and more people moving to CUVs

But that hasn’t happened…look at the Accord numbers over the years (US)…Ford, GM and Stellantis all left the sedan market by 2020…but Accord sales never picked up.

I highly doubt they will even break into 200s this year…

^^Arguably, auto sales have been a bit screwy since 2020....not sure I'd call those "normal" sales figures.

And EV sales in North America is still a borderline niche market....~6%

I tend to think he implied that market share has increased, not that totals sales have risen in that segment.  Also as pointed out 2020-now hasn’t exactly been normal times in new auto sales.

If we used the logic of Taurii, how many vehicles would we lose if we said that once you drop below 200k in sales in the US it’s a dead market?
Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction, and skillful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives.

Maybe? Lots of Camrys and Civics at the rental counter nowadays though…they became one of the cheapest rentals one can get.

And it's no surprise that Accord sales would dip towards the end of its lifecycle.

I'm surprised the Camry outsells the Civic and Corolla.  I think the US likes its large cars.  I imagine those two would outsell the Camry in Canada.

I was surprised as well. Seems around here I see way more Civics and Corollas. Was also interesting to see that GM in fact outsells the F150. Since the Sierra and Silverado are really the exact same product with different stying, also noteworthy that Ram still makes the old style truck and markets it as Ram "classic".
