^^^ Honda has gone all in on turbocharging, unfortunately.
I'd look for the next pilot to also have a turbocharged 4-cylinder - hopefully something larger than a 1.5. Probably their 2.0T from the upper trim Accord.
The 2023 Pilot is 3.5 V6 only. Pricing not yet available. This is essentially a technical copy of a 2022 MDX. Will be a wicked seller. Cheapest 2023 MDX is the stupid looking A-Spec @$69K plus tax. The normal looking model is the Elite at $73K

The TECH version is GONE.
On the other hand the Highlander is no longer V6 but 2.4 Turbo. That's really got to suck. However, I suspect new Highlander buyers won't even know what kind of motor it has or care. 8.4% on a Highlander lease for 48mth.

I have a cottage neighbour who had a 2022 Highlander XLE AWD in Black. Last summer they had a bunch of dash lights come on and the dealer finally after many attempts at a fix replaced the transfer case. That's the story I got. This really irritated them and they lost faith in the car.

So they ordered a 2023 new XLE AWD in White. So I walked by at Xmas time and they were out and I got the tour and even though I think they look like shite, I said how nice it was and so on. Then the husband says that he was surprised to find out after receipt that it came with a 4 Turbo instead of the V6. Thought that it would be fine, but you could tell his disappointment. I didn't rub it in.
