Love the idea of it, but automatic + AWD... blah. As much as I love wagons I'd rather have a base M3 manual.
I totally get it, but having it as an option would be pretty sweet.  Maybe have the wagon for daily commuting/winter and a fun RWD manual sports car for the nice weather days?  That would be a pretty ideal two car garage.

I get where you're coming from, but have you sat in a new M3. I hate to say it, but the car is rather large and the manual felt out of place...almost comical.

This would be exasperated in wagon form. Auto, X-drive suits the Touring.
I love it when a plan comes together.

I dunno, I've never really thought of cars as being "too big" to have a manual.

See, I'm with Oliver on this one. xdrive and slushbox, sounds great for a penalty box like an X1 or X3....for something like an M3, its an M3, I want the full experience even if it has its practical wagon clothes on.
