And this morning is exactly why I prefer steel rims instead of alloys for winter tires. Temperature was 1 degree, but was rainy and windy all night. Was doing my normal morning commute, a turn that in the summer I take at between 40-45 km/hr, I was taking at 35-40 km/hr, hit some black ice and slide into a curb. Was likely only doing about 20-25 km/hr, so low speed. Scraped some steel and paint off the rim, no other damage. Spray it with some cheap black paint, good as new. Had that been alloy wheels I would have been a lot more annoyed.
