This will be my 3rd brand new manual performance vehicle in the past 7 years.  I'm fully on board the #savethemanuals bandwagon.  All you cheap buggers who only buy used should be giving people like me a big thumbs up for adding these to the pool of cars that you can choose from on the used market.  I'll be adding another new manual performance car to the pool in 3 years time too, so that'll be 4 added in 10 years.  So I'm doing my part.

 :hello:  Thank You.

Car looks great.  I'm a big fan of the Civic - always have been, and the SI is the best of the bunch.

Looks great!

Others will know more than I do, but I thought you weren’t supposed to clay bar, wax, etc a ceramic coated car?  They told me not to when I had mine done.

Sweet car!  And thanks for the write-up.

I was surprised to hear that it's quieter than the GLI, given the missoin for the GLI is more of a grand tourer than a sports sedan.  That's definitely a bonus.

Also surprised they don't have a massive cover over the engine to make things look tidy. It's kinda refreshing to see the mechanical bits.

Since you were on a highway drive, I doubt the extra 300 lbs you had in the car will make much of an impact on fuel economy.  Still great numbers, almost diesel like.

I too think there isn't much point in a hybrid or EV when you can get this kind of mileage from a fun car.  Really a decent choice for those who want a fun commuter car.

EVs make the most sense if you have a decently long commute in city traffic.
Yeah I'm not going to say it's a crazy quieter vehicle, just marginally so.  I too was surprised that the engine bay doesn't have some fancy cover.  Engines don't really look at good nowadays, too many wire, sensors, etc.

My commute is definitely not not, I think round trip per day I'm under 20kms.

Sweet ride and killer colour.  :winner:  I'm a new convert to ceramic coating as well - zero regrets there.  Dive safe and enjoy!
Thanks bud.  Now this is a Honda ceramic coat, so no idea how good it will end up being.  So far it's great.  I'll let you know how it holds up after a few years of winter abuse.

Thanks, but I think the Civic Type R is going to be a lot more special and fingers crossed less offensive/juvenile looking for this generation.  It's going to be a great commuter and winter car when I get something a bit more special in 3 years.

You could be right.  I know that on the Honda website it says "no need to ever wax your car again" but I just thought it was a marketing thing and not a disclaimer.  I'll have to do some research on this before I decide to do anything.  That would be amazing if I don't have to do that.

Well, yeah, obviously the Type R is the top spec, but the Type R is relatively low volume - of the high volume Civics sold, the SI is the best of the bunch.

Looks good, I really like the styling on the latest Civic. As for the fuel economy, 5L/100km is definitely not out of the question in one of these if you drive it conservatively, keep the RPMs down. I remember averaging something like 4.5L/100km in a manual Civic Coupe (maybe 2015 or so) tester I had for a week (in winter too)...Civic's always seem to do well in real-world fuel economy. It's also one of the reasons why I can't quite get on the hybrid/EV bandwagon....when you can get 5L/100km out of a Civic Si, which is miles better to drive than any comparable hybird/EV, I don't see the draw.

Because Civics will be more like in the 8s in the city, which isn't bad, but a comparable compact hybrid can do 4-5 in the city.
