Yeah, the guys I work with who drive gas guzzlers can barely tell you the cost of fuel these days....when you're comfortable making $1,000+ per month lease payments, fuel costs are not a priority.

Going by the number of trucks/suvs that I saw going 130-140 kph down the 401 yesterday I'd say people really don't care about fuel costs or economy.
