It will be interesting to hear how much seat time this new IS500 gets.

Daily daily daily.

I'm at 198km in 30 hours. Stand by!
Yeah but you are very much so in the honeymoon section of ownership.  If after a year of ownership you go to grab these keys first then I think you have bought yourself something special.

Tell the Mrs. I'm super happy for (and maybe a little envious of) her getting the V90XC!
I'd rather be car-poor than house-poor...

Congrats!

Choosing a car based on reliability is like choosing a wife based solely because she is punctual. There is more to it than that...

I mainly focus on the operations of the mag. I take maybe one press car a month myself, if that. I alternate daily driving between this and the LS 460, and the LS gets left behind when I do have press cars.

Very nice!

Curious:  Will you stick with no front plate or plan to add something in the future?

Thanks! I haven't quite decided yet.

I mean... what do you mean?!?!?!?!?? The front plate bracket fell out of the grille and it DEFINITELY isn't still in its plastic in the trunk along with the plate... no sir!

That would be a good article for the mag, take turns driving around in different cars with no front plate and see how long before cops care.

I support this little rebellion. Knock on wood, the XJR still doesn't have a front plate. I have my excuse set for the officer "I work at JRL, and my part is on backorder after they sent me a broken bracket and then the wrong one. Still waiting on the proper bracket sir."  :rofl2:
If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

Chaos, you live in Ottawa - the Ottawa police most likely just assume that cars with no front plate are from Gatineau.

You'd be pinched within a week (or less) here.

Cops literally have nothing else to do out this way.

I got a written warning last summer for having one of those tinted black covers on the front plate of the XKR...Cop told me to take it off, but I never bothered. He was obviously bored, sitting at a 4-way stop waiting for people to roll through - which is also an irritating pass-time for Cops in my area.

I have the slidey powered thing on the Vantage. It's always hidden away. I went about three years without being touched, for it, until I got popped this past summer. "Oh really? I had no idea -  it's supposed to open when the car's started... it's a dealer installed accessory! The car came with it! I'm so sorry... there is an over ride, let me push it now"

The cop just wanted to talk about the car. I'm fairly sure Firm actually drove by while I was pulled over... he may have gotten a photo of me awkwardly standing in front of the car with the cop pointing to the front bumper.

That said, I got a bracket for the Bentley. I'm happy to suffer the consequences if need be, but I don't need my parents having to fumble for answers. Not worth their time.

:rofl2: I did, but I was not quick enough to get my phone out to snap a pic. Definitely a missed opportunity.

Here's an idea. Buy some real estate in QC and title the no-front plate cars at that address as "company cars" (our "F"-plates).

And in the same topic, most Ontario-plated pressers I get here have virgin front bumpers and a loose front plate at the bottom of the trunk  ;D
