Art Bentelay the Flying Spur

Any Seinfeld fans in here that would appreciate what the technicians at work named the new jalopy?

'07 Flying Spur Mulliner, black/black. It has 75,000km on it and one owner its whole life. Hasn't even had the front bumper drilled for a plate, and has two sets of real Bentley wheels, one with Dunlop snowies.

6.0L twin-turbocharged W12 - 551 horsepower and 479 lb-ft. of torque. What a buttery smooth engine, even if it is just two VR6s hooked up to one another.

I added a GROM Bluetooth streaming audio module, did a fluid flush, and threw the winters on. Thing drives like a dream. No, I'm not really sure what I'm going to do with it yet, but it was way too cheap to pass up.

Give a man a fish, he eats for a day. Teach the man to fish and he wakes you up at 5 in the morning.

Great luxury sedan !

Just curious, does it cost you an arm & a leg to insure such car in Ontario?

Super cool

There is an old couple here that I see at our coffee shop that have one of these or very similar. Haven't seen it for a while but covid did put a lot of people into hiding. Hope they are ok. Where always friendly and nice to talk to.

Let me know if/when you want to sell it, last time I was talking to my cousin he wanted to trade his 996 cabrio for a Bentley, but I can't remember which model.

Not really! It's funny - the Aston Martin is cheaper to insure than any of my Lexus LS sedans. The Flying Spur is cheaper than the Vantage.

You definitely live a very interesting life with the cars you have access too.  Really living the car enthusiasts dream and this has got to be a fantastic car to drive.  Of course your situation (owning your own shop with techs that are specialized in these more exotic vehicles).  I hope you enjoy your time with this Bentley.

Winter mode engaged with Dunlops. I'll likely switch to Blizzak WS90s at some point to accommodate Northern Ontario driving. I also put a GROM module in to give the car Bluetooth audio streaming through the native system. Thing sounds great, I'm not sure who makes the factory stereo - might be Naim?

Found a used front plate bracket off eBay for $80 shipped, better than the $400-500 that a new one would have cost. I just don't want to take chances without a front tag on it, especially since my dad and Mrs. Hire both spent time driving it this week.

I wasn't sure what the purpose of this car was going to be, but it looks like my dad has fallen in love with it. He's the typical "immigrated to this country with nothing" story and is extremely humble in his choices. He loves the LS460 that I bought him, and drove the Flying Spur a bit this week. He absolutely adores the car, but is a bit skeptical of being seen in it. Think I might just keep it around and let him enjoy what's effectively the car of his dreams.
