Looks good but wonder how many they will sell?  I've yet to see a G90.  I suspect most buying in this class want an established nameplate for status.  I have seen one new S-Class and it looked like a blob compared to the last version.

I thought that for a car that has become synonymous with "flagship luxury sedan" it looked utterly bland, uninspiring and the very opposite of "special".  I'm sure it has all the whiz bang toys and 96 different shades of mood lighting, but road presence it does not have.
Wokeism is nothing more than the recognition and opposition of bigotry in all its forms.  Bigots are predictably triggered.

All these exterior pictures are good and all but these vehicles are more about how luxurious the interior is.  I haven't seen any interior shots yet so until then I will reserve judgement and I prefer the previous gen rims personally.

The new crop of models have all been home runs in the interior design department. Can't think they'd drop the ball on the flagship.
For the most part I would agree but I'm not sure which model it was but it had a truly horrific steering wheel design.  I'm hoping that doesn't make it into the flagship.

There's also a LWB model:

Love the wheels on both models that have been shown. A bit too much chrome for my tastes though. It doesn't need to be blacked out or anything but the vertical trim pieces on the doorframes of the LWB model are a bit garish.

Now that the G90 has been around for a full generation I was curious how it faired in terms of sales.

592 units sold in Canada between 2016 and 2021....I guess very exclusive car.

Nice car, but why Hyundai keeps throwing development money into the full size luxury sedan area is beyond my understanding

Now that they are finally building SUV's Genesis actually has a chance to catch on

Cuz they sell at least 10k a year in South Korea alone.

You are absolutely right

https://www.chinamobil.ru/eng/cars/genesis/genesis-g90/sales_south_korea/

That makes more sense. Still not so much why it took so long to lift up their designs for North America

Lexus selling only LS and IS would be a very small company

Well, do you ask why BMW Mercedes Audi and Lexus still "throw money" at full size luxury sedans?  Because there is still a demand for them among luxury clientelle.  The luxury sedan buyer doesn't want an SUV any more than the luxury SUV buyer wants a sedan.  And since Genesis now offers both, why the criticism?

The whole market will be electric CUVs soon enough - no need to rush things.  ;D

As a thing of design, I like it. Excellent.
If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

The demand for luxury sedans may be uniquely Korean, but I'm not sure. Generally speaking, the demand for sedans has plummeted at all price points and many of those sales are now going to large CUVs/SUVs. So it is a bit curious that Genesis took as long as it did to enter the crossover market. If their rationalization is that they wanted to prioritize the domestic market before building out a more complete model range I can certainly buy that.

That is facking gorgeous.  As these sedans are not big sellers, I personally like the idea of being the only G90 driver in town!

That goes for all big premium cars. Almost never see a S63, 760, S8...let alone another XJR. G90 will be one of a half dozen max in any city.

Yeah they’ll sell very few, and the owners of Genesis dealers will probably be the ones driving them. The market for big sedans is just beyond dead.

They need a super suv. Around here I’m amazed at the amount of Bentley Bentaygas I see. They’re ugly and poorly proportioned. I’m sure Genesis can make a far better looking competitor at 100’s of thousands less. Daily it’s just Range Rover, Escalade, G-Wagons, and even the latest buck toothed BMW as the most common luxury SUV in “trendy Okanagan”.

It feels like a quarter Albertans, a quarter Vancouverites, a quarter other, and a quarter born and raised in the area.

All they need to do is sell out in the Okanagan. Every old timer I meet seems to have a few acres of land he bought in the 70's for a few grand. There was a plot down the road from us ~7 acres, guy bought in 78 for $2500....the estate sold it last July for $447,000. My realtor friend here figures there was a few hundred K left on that property.

There's just stupid money in the OK right now. Check out August Motors, see what kid of inventory he keeps. I always hear how busy they are too.

Holy crap, you were not kidding. People with money to burn

Real estate inflation is a weird thing. Could all be a house of cards eventually, but riding the wave seems to have created a lot of disposable income at the moment for some people
