Dealers refused to sell at MSRP.

I'm not paying over MSRP for a Corolla..regardless of how good it might be.

And the same with a Prime.

I wouldn't be able to look myself in the mirror knowing I over paid for a Prius or Corolla!

I would do the same... unless money wouldn't be an issue. But if you would've been willing to pay whatever they asked, did they give you an ETA? Just curious what the wait time would be for one.

They weren't sure. They hoped summer/fall. This was early on though when the GR pricing was announced.

I'm sure they would have a better idea now.

Dyno test....
https://youtu.be/a9GWfv1WVY0

They didn’t put it in FWD mode. Claiming they did but they are way off everyone else.  You had to do this with the Focus RS as well.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=YG11PDjlWyw

Video shows the FWD pulls....  ???
If the result is different than others, it's a different story.

For the Focus RS and the GR Corolla, there is a 'dyno' mode where it defaults to FWD for testing HP purposes.  Otherwise the GR Corolla's AWD system's electronics fights against the test and will post artificially low numbers.

When they did the FWD test, just like in the other video you posted, the rear wheels are on the ground. Wouldn't that be an indication the car is in FWD mode?

From what I understand the traction control kicks in.  But 216 hp for a mid 4 second run at 3250 lbs should tell you that something isn't right.

It’s not listed on the site but was there in all of its black glory a few days ago.

As far as stock, definitely a lot of new vehicles

In the Halifax area the only toyotas on lots are demos that they won't sell you or ones they will sell at some inflated price.

Too bad there is no Toyota equivalent to the Golf GTI or Civic Si
I would love something more sporty than a regular hatch, but the anything with an R and 300hp is too much for me.

GR86?

Different car configuration than GTI/SI, but similar performance and price point.

It’s too bad Subaru didn’t feel like making a new STI to compete with these.  But yes a mid performance compact from Toyota would be nice too.  Maybe bring back the Celica or Paseo.

Yup - this is the car that competes with the Si and GTi.  Dynamically superior but no hatch.

I was going to say the GR86 is a great little sports car.
