lol, I always wear dark glasses driving (well, when it's bright out)...but some scenery requires a full head-crank.

I had legal tint on the Sonata: 50% front doors, 35% rear doors and back window.  I had no issues seeing out.

i had 20% front doors and 5% rear/back.

looks cool, but sucks in low visibility situations.

5% is limo level tint.  My sister had that level on her G6 back in the day and you couldn’t see :censor: out the back at night.

I tint my rear windows only and never more than what the factories put on.  I just prefer the look, less eyes on what is in the back seat and hatches.

i've done the 20/5 on the few vehicles i've tinted over the years...but i'm older now and seeing out in all occasions is more important now than "looking cool".

I've been noticing every new car I drive has more factory tint than the one before. The Venzaurus's back windows and hatch are tinted just the right amount, while the front windows, though being around 70% I think, reflect quite a bit of heat away, and likely work on UV as well. Suppose it was done on purpose to lighten the AC load for overall efficiency.

i think the factory tint on the Venza is minimal at best...it does have Solar Glass though.

Went for a nice drive in the presser during lunch hour, came across a car with full tint - an otherwise mint 2-door K-Car  ;D

Wow, all these pages on tint! Nice to see the different views.

Personally I’m with Firm - I like tint on a daily driver because of the heat reduction, since my dailies always have black leather. I also like the privacy afforded by tint. If I didn’t strongly believe that tint makes older/classic stuff look worse, I’d want everything tinted. I don’t like others being able to see my business; just personal preference.

I’ve been going back and forth on tinting Mrs. Hire’s M5, but I think I’ve come to the conclusion that it looks better without.

This old man barge on the other hand, looks way better IMHO with tinted windows and on the larger summer wheels (F-Sport wheels that are not pictured other than the first teaser shot). They’re also the same wheels that I grabbed as the summer setup on my dad’s LS.

I like tint too.

But do tell what you need privacy for whilst driving.  What exactly are you doing that's so..private?  Nose picking?  Some blow?  Touching yourself?    :rofl2:

What exactly wouldn't you want other drivers to see while you're driving a car!?!    :rofl2:

Tinted front windows depends on where you live
Front, side windows: Here’s where things get a little trickier. In Ontario, for vehicles manufactured on or after January 1, 2017, a light transmission of less than 70 per cent on any window directly to the left or right of the driver is not allowed. Older vehicles simply “may not have normal vision restricted or limited,” which is really quite ambiguous. New Brunswick and Quebec are 70 per cent, Manitoba is 50 per cent and the rest of Canada is does not allow any tint.

So, I've put about 5,000km on this thing so far. It's just fine, but last week I had a failure - the control arm bushings were all cracked (6/8), so I just decided to replace the arms. OEM parts weren't cheap, but it's a once-and-done thing so I just had it done. Car is still a spectacular daily, honestly don't know what else I'd rely on year-round.

Funny enough, a week after I did my control arms, my dad pulls up saying his car's making a weird clunk from the suspension. Turns out his LS 460 needs control arms too. Mine has 136,000km now, and his has about 45,000km. Lovely...

Control arms bushing were one of the few known weak/problem spots of this car.

So keeping it long enough...probably won't be "one and done".

Glad you got it sorted though.

Yeah, but it’s now an updated part. I went poly bushings on the new arms. Everything on clublexus says that if you go poly, you won’t have to do them again.

OK..wasn't sure.

There's a few companies offering just the bushings now too.

Figs offers some, but it’s scarce for AWD cars to get them all. The two that were still good on my car were replaced by Figs bushings in 2017.

Had a chance to take some decent pics last weekend. Absolutely love this car - drives like a dream. I spent some time in the '22 Civic SI last week, and a '22 Ram 1500 the week before. Very refreshing to be back in this, I enjoy every kilometre.

Also, slipped on some ice and fell flat on my a$$ taking these photos - I now have a sprained wrist. Please enjoy these photos accordingly ;D
