First released pic looks better to me, but not sure it's a big enough difference to really change my impression in general

I still think the Lotus Emira is much better looking, but that's all personal taste.  This Vette is much more about all out performance at a low price.

Have to agree.

Choosing a car based on reliability is like choosing a wife based solely because she is punctual. There is more to it than that...

No argument from me, the Emira is gorgeous and kind of what was the picture in my head when I first heard the C8 was going to be mid engine

Today is the day the Z06 gets revealed.  I think it's this afternoon to be exact.  I doubt they'll state the price, but the performance numbers and full pictures should be given.  I have a feeling this is going to really undercut supercars by a lot of money and be on par for performance.

I am in the minority I know, but I am not a fan of the sound of the engine. No balls. I am sure it will be fast as hell, but Lotus for me if I had to make a decision.

Never really been a fan of flat plane V8s to start with.
If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

Unless they were in some Italian car....

Mustang GT350 sounded amazing with the flat plane V8..

I agree, the GT350 is the best sounding domestic car for sure.

OK, the GT350 does sound good.  :P

And no, I am not a fan of Italian flat plane V8s (aka Ferrari). I like their V12s and V6s, and their cross-plane crank V8s (read: Maserati).

What did the old C7 Z06 cost in Canada?  Anyone know?

Edit:  Just looked it up and it started under $94K CAD, at least that's what Google is telling me.  So this new one might be under $100K CAD.  That's just nuts.

0-60 in around 2.6 seconds when properly equipped.  Which is impressive because it's hard to put that much power down.  The regular C8 does 0-60 in around 3 seconds, so not a HUGE increase, but I'm assuming the quarter mile and other longer distance and higher speed runs will see that gap widen considerably.

Last Z06 was SLOWER than the previous Z06 due to the additional aero.

Might be some of that going on here too

Could be, but at these speeds, there is only so much you can do with two tires putting power down.

LOL, I'd love to see the tech's face when you bring that in for an oil change.  I almost guarantee you they will not be capable of doing it.

And yet I would rather have a Cayman GT4.

Same.
