...and the Akrapovich exhaust... :fiver:

Nice I'm sure, but $$$$$
Yep!

Had a full titanium version on my 690. Was featherweight but hideously expensive

A slip on for your bike is the way to go.

I am under the impression you can't do a slip on on the CB650s in any iteration...it's all or nothing. I think the AK is like $1500?  Def not cheap, but Jaeger's got money like...

(Lawyer not? Pfft...that's what? 2-3 billable hours max?  :stick:)

Agreed.

The Hindle full systems are significantly lighter than OEM, and aren't that expensive. And they are Canadian made.
Unless you're going to tune a full exhaust system (which means Power Commander or similar), there's really no point.

I agree, I sent my ECU off to get flashed. Plug and play.

Ron would recommend dieting and exercise. Jerk.  :rofl2:

Jerk? Yes.  ;D Wrong? Ummm......     no. :-[

Just for fun Rog', add up the cost of all the gear and accessories so far. What's that as a % of the bike?  :rofl2:

A guy once asked me the easiest way to shave 10lbs off his bike.

I suggested he chop his head off.

tail tidy upgrades are always a popular choice, even if they technically may be "illegal"?

i'm not really sure...for a manufacturer, the wheel can't be the "last part" of the bike, hence why they have long tails or swingarm mounted "tail kits"...but perhaps that's a law only in certain countries (maybe not here)???...so they simply make one version of the bike for global sales (which makes sense).

Already bought a tail tidy - going to have all the bits and bobs installed once I get them all together - probably just before I put the thing to bed for the winter.

Come on man...have a go at installing them yourself.

Working on motorcycles, even with limited skills, is easy and I think you're up for it.

Yeah - no - I'm not messing with anything remotely electrical.

It's two wires... A few bullet connectors and some tape maybe.

I saved $1000 putting in a new circuit board on my furnace and with the you tubes it wasn't very hard... ;D

The whole do your own work thing definitely seems to be a strong part of the motorcycle culture. But it's not me. I don't change the oil on my own car, either - and it doesn't diminish my enjoyment of it one iota. Would I save a few bucks doing it myself? Sure. But while I don't claim affluence to the point of generalized fiscal indifference to the cost of things, I can afford to professionally maintain the vehicles I own.

None of that is to pass judgment on those who enjoy working on their bikes - and I get that this is fun for some. I weirdly enjoy washing my car, where most consider that a pure chore. But mucking about with greasy bits and fiddling with wires is not my thing. Hopefully that shouldn't be too hard to understand even if it is your particular thing.

totally makes sense...it's not that i don't know what needs to be done or how it's done...but i lack the proper tools, patience and desire to do any of that dirty work myself...add in a bad back, and crawling around on the garage floor and bending down and picking up tires, etc isn't really an option for me anyway.

I completely understand where you two are coming from. If you never leave built up areas and have cell service then help is within reach.  I find that by doing all my work myself I educate myself on how things work and I then understand issues if they crop up at the roadside. It also doesn't hurt to have rudimentary skills like fixing flats, carb floats (or cleaning out fuel blockages on FI bikes), cleaning jets, and a general understanding of the bikes wiring because  when adventure riding as it can be a long long walk home.
