500km later I can say that my confidence on the bike has grown, as has my enjoyment of riding.  Still as green as can be, of course, but so far the bike is checking all the boxes.  I sure can't find much to criticize.

Had a full titanium version on my 690. Was featherweight but hideously expensive

A slip on for your bike is the way to go.

The Hindle full systems are significantly lighter than OEM, and aren't that expensive. And they are Canadian made.

The Hindle full systems are significantly lighter than OEM, and aren't that expensive. And they are Canadian made.
Unless you're going to tune a full exhaust system (which means Power Commander or similar), there's really no point.
