Looks great! Can't wait for the full EV version.

Looks have grown on me, overall I think it looks great.  The grill is still a bit much when viewing the front straight on, but otherwise its OK.  Its obviously better when the surround is colour matched.

I like some of the features introduced; tailgate button in taillight, bed dividers like the Maverick, tailgate step, etc.  Some of the features aren't new to other automakers, but they were much needed to make the truck competitive.

My biggest dislike (other than no V8) is that the hybrid batteries eat up the rear under seat storage.  I use that storage all the time.  I'm disappointed in that because if I were to ever upgrade I'd be leaning to the hybrid model.

Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction, and skillful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives.

Does anyone know if Toyota released any official fuel economy numbers for the hybrid?  My FIL will likely be getting a new truck next summer and he puts a lot of kms his V8 F150 that is 3 years old and already has engine issues at 140,000kms.  Plus living in NL he pays about 20 cents more per litre for gas.  If the hybrid Toyota could use half the fuel of his current truck he could likely justify paying a higher monthly payment.  The issue will be getting him to buy something foreign.  I think the only foreign vehicle he ever owned was a VW Bettle back in the 60’s.  Been mostly Ford or GM since then.

not yet...the hybrid (I-Force MAX) likely won't be out until next summer.

He lives in a small community that pretty much has one gas station and one small grocery/hardware store.  He used to be a long haul truck driver and drives 45 minutes one way to the closest Tim Hortons every day.  Plus his kids live in NB and Ontario, so he drives there a few times per year.

^^ Also the province is bigger than you think . It is about 900 kms between St. John's and Port aux Basques, a nine hour drive. Don't forget Labrador.

For him if it is an American brand (Ford; GM, or FCA) it’s domestic.  Everything else is foreign to him, including an American brand like Tesla or something made in Canada like a Civic or Corolla.  He gives us crap for buying foreign junk.  He is your typical cranky old man.  What I found funny is the last two transport trucks that he bought were Volvo.  Basically went with those because they were more fuel efficient.  Hence why I have hope in convincing him to buy a Tundra Hybrid.

The issue with trucks right now is the Ford F-150 V8 has issues, he doesn’t really trust exoboosts.  GM is having troubles with their cylinder deactivation tech, and Ram has issues with the Hemi.  He won’t go smaller than “half tonne” and the only truly reliable option is Tundra, but current gen would cripple him in fuel costs.

Really like this Tundra. I’m sure it’ll do well. Fingers crossed that turbo six is reliable.

Jesus, does he spend half his retirement income on trucks and gas?

I think he averages something like over $100 per week in gas.  It's really a total waste of money.  He has a small boat that he puts in the water every year, probably weights total of 4,000lbs.  Has a small utility trailer as well, but he'd never haul more than what the boat and trailer weigh.  So he doesn't need a "half tonne" pickup.  But he's old and dead set on having his pickup during his "golden years".  I think they pay more for gas than they do for food, which is sad.

Well my Dad does.  He has a 2020 Rav4, a 2020 Lexus LC500 convertible, and a 2013 Camaro ZL1 Nickey Stage 2 (856 hp at the rear wheels).   ;D

At least your dad is having fun!

Lol.  Mom has been gone for 10 years and he gets bored. 😂

I should do a show and shine in the spring with these two.  Pretend they are mine.

Yes, please do, especially the LC.
