Rumour has the mild hybrid TT V6 at 482 hp and over 640 lb ft of torque.

Very nice.  I will accept the turbos if this is the case  ;D.

That would be acceptable, and in line with what I was suggesting.

482hp and 640lbft torque is merely acceptable, what a time to be alive!

Will $2/L gasoline change things?

Depends on how much of that is supplied by electric I guess.

Do we expect that to be the engine most buyers will pay for?  I知 wondering what the base engine will be rated at.

See I consider that to be competitive and a big step forward when compared to current V8.  It will likely be 25% more fuel efficient, lighter, and offer the power much lower in the rev range.  Of course the turbo hybrid would be the one to get but personally I would have liked to have seen one none turbo option, like the 3.5 V6 with hybrid, would be more fuel efficient, more reliable, and offer all the capabilities that 90% of truck owners need.

Is that how you make a truck more pedestrian friendly?  Scare the shi# out of anyone within siting distance and they'll run from the ugly?  That makes GBA's truck look facking fantastic by comparison.  Maybe they should do like RAM and continue with the "Classic Tundra" - see which one sells better.

HEY!  My truck looks fantastic on its own merit! Almost three years of ownership and I still give it the 'lookback' after parking it.  Subjectively, I like the way it looks more than any other truck, even Ram.

Don't think Toyota has had trouble with its turbos (yet) so it should basically be a reliable Ecoboost. Should do well, as this fellow points out:

I agree. I think the Tundra is the last of the proper truck 1/2 tons. All the other makes went full city slicker, Tundra actually looks like a good ol' fashioned truck.
Lighten up Francis.....

Coil-spring rear suspension confirmed:

I would guess to make the truck feel more car like, like they did with the ram.

Good for comfort, bad for payload. Ram 1500 has pretty poor payload too.
