We actually use the term "Power Fisted" to describe a Princess Auto tool breaking.

Buddy: Hey, can I borrow your wrench?

Me: Why?  Where's yours?

Buddy: I got Power Fisted

Easy for me:

If the Ford's 4.5' bed will handle a big dirtbike I endorse it.

The Hyundai won't so I can't.

The old Ridgeline has a 5' bed and it just handles bikes. The rear tire of a motorcycle on a 4.5' may be just on the tailgate lip . I may be able to endorse it.

I love it. Finally a proper compact truck that is <$40k. This is what the Ridgeline should've been in my opinion. A CR-V based truck.

A full EV version of the Maverick would be the perfect city truck.

Also Subaru was 19 years too early with the Baja. 2003-2006. I wonder if it will make a comback - a Subaru Outback based truck?

I think Ford has a success here - this will inflict another blow in the sedan market and (me thinks) will also hurt the Escape.

No loss there.  That and the Ecosport.  Just horrible that is.

I laughed at it.  And I consider myself to be quite funny.

If this becomes successful, I can see Ford adding a longer bed length version down the road, assuming it's reasonably simple to do so.  And they feel it won't steal sales from the Ranger.

But then it isn't a small truck anymore. If you need more bed length just get a Ranger or F-150.

Just shrink that cab down a bit, all will be good. Just like with the big trucks. Not every pickup needs to be a supercrew

I'm sure if this takes off we'll see other makers file in with their versions, will be nice if more reliable makes than Ford or Hyundai step in to this space

Aren't crew cabs 90%+ of the market though? I think it would be tough to make a business case for an even cheaper variant of the Maverick. Part of what makes this thing financially viable for Ford is the limited number of configurations.
