Yeah this bitching about the Hyundai pickup and this one is completely different. Hyundai is a styling and lifestyle experiment and Ford is a gateway “truck”. One is made specific for a small group of buyers and the other is made for a wide range of users.
I like the massive towing capacity of the Hyundai, I like the bigger turbo engine, I think it looks more futuristic, and I think the interior is going to be vastly superior.
The Ford Maverick is a lot cheaper, has a standard hybrid powertrain, has a much more useful bed and payload, and offers more variety in options.
In a way these two compact “pickups” are so different it feels like comparing apples to oranges.
If you want styling, camping, and towing get the Hyundai. If you want a cheap pickup for hauling stuff in the bed get the Ford.
My dad currently has a previous generation Ranger and I could see them going with this to replace it.
