Fusion Hybrid 2019 uses (in Canada):

Motorcraft MERCONŽ LV Automatic Transmission Fluid
CXT-10-LV12

Specification:
WSS-M2C938-A
MERCONŽ LV

There is nothing in the Maverics manual regarding the fluid type. Only says to replace is at 240,000 km or 48,000 km for severe schedule.

Give a man a fish, he eats for a day. Teach the man to fish and he wakes you up at 5 in the morning.

The origins of the Aisin power split device began with a partnership with Volvo.  When Ford acquired Volvo in 1999 they acquired access to the technology.

The current Ford PSD is not manufactured by Aisin.  It's virtually the same, but is it of the same quality?  Generally, do Fords have the same level of quality as Toyotas?  Probably not, but they are closing the gap, some what.  :D

How did Volvo get it?

Aisin is part of the Toyota Group.

I can't recall any Volvo using a planetary PSD.

Aisin is part of the Toyota Group.

Toyota Motor aka "Toyota" in North America is part of the "Toyota Group".  A litany of Japanese independent companies are part of the "Toyota Group".  Yamaha, Suzuki, Subaru, Panansonic et al are part of the "Group".  Outside Japan this kind of "partnership" doesn't exist.

They didn't.  They went bust before they could adopt it.  Ford inherited whatever development agreements Volvo had with Aisin in the early 90s when Aisin and Volvo co-developed the hardware.   In the mid 2000s, Aisin/Toyota didn't say hey, why don't we just license this incredible transmission to Ford and only Ford because it's the right thing to do.
