The germane part of the article is the location.  Different world.

The really big picture takeaway is that entire systems are becoming more centralized, brittle and with no fallback in case of failure. A large scale grid failure either as an accident or a malicious act will cripple mobility unlike ICE where in a worst case electricity scenario you can use a jug to draw gasoline from underground fuel bunks at gas stations and fill your car. Widespread use of electronic payments means that cash is scarce and in the event of a failure of the payment system, whether by accident by malicious design it will cripple your ability to buy anything.

Well I finally drove my BIL Lightning yesterday and have to say I was mightily impressed. Very good ride and this thing accelerates even stronger than my Mach-E. The independent rear suspension puts it in a totally different league than other pickups. Very well executed vehicle.

How’s it do as a…. You know… truck?  As opposed to a party trick.

Who cares, did you see its 0-60 times??? Who cares you can barely get around the block with a small load behind it.
Lighten up Francis.....

Huge exaggeration…I go from 500kms to 350km with a 2500lbs load behind me…

Downhill?  Because you are dramatically exceeding every independent test that has been done.

Are you sure you aren’t driving a debadged ecoboost F150?

Who cares what you have read on the internet, did you test drove the Lightning yourself? With and without a trailer?  How was your range?

Not necessary.  Check out Hoovie.  Jay Leno has invited him on Leno's Garage a couple of times.  Hoovie and the Car Wizard; what makes America great.

Besides this towing video Hoovie, did a Lightening review @32F or slightly below.  Disaster.

Ford has a really good chance of going broke over their EV push.

Guy, your bias is showing. This makes no sense. By your logic any test, review, experience from the internet  is meaningless.  Including Taurii’s. One must drive a vehicle before forming any opinion or forming any conclusion.
Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction, and skillful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives.

THIS IS the internet. Bahahaha.

Why should I believe anything you say about your brief test drive.  And your report on the INTERNET.

Not necessary.  Check out Hoovie.

I seem to recall a later video about how there was an issue with the battery pack that required replacement. So that's not a representative example.

2500lbs doesn’t really affect range that much…most tests were being done close to its towing limit - 10k lbs….that will suck the life out of the battery, but it would be the same with an ICE truck.

There are other factors at play here for me though, I’d prolly lose more if I was pulling a closed trailer, but that’s just aerodynamics - it will affect any vehicle’s range.
