Topgear has a full review. Topgear, says US only. Lol. I guess Canada doesn't exist  300 miles on the battery.

First Drive Video. 10 Minutes.

When they say US only, they mean 'not Europe'.  Our market is so integrated with the US's we just get lumped in.

Mine is getting built May 15!!! Super pumped to get my hands on it, I will be the only one in Manitoba with one till at least late August, but even after that there will be just a few of us - like 12!? In 2022 with one….

There are people in the states paying $50k over MSRP for one…

Have been seeing reviews everywhere in the last 2-3 days. People are calling it the best F150 Ford has built. You made a solid choice. Congrats

Thanks. Some dealers are already selling their demo - that they can only sell in 6 months…

So just curious about EV trucks (not just the F-150).
How do they calculate the range? Do they assume 1 person driving it alone or with a nominal amount of load in the back and or a nominal load being towed?

All fuel economy and range calculations are pretty much best case scenario's, so assume it means just the driver and no cargo or towing for that top range.

I don't know if it is just a US thing. We had a friend over for dinner on Saturday and he narrated this to me:
His (my friend's) realtor who he knows very well, walks into the Oakville MB dealership looking to buy the G63.
Apparently, the weight of the G63 and the Model S is above a certain CRA threshold and it can be completely written off in taxes.
Now, this realtor owns an R8 as a summer car, a Range rover sport as his DD and his wife drives a Cayenne as a DD. He doesn't live very far from us so i see the cars in his driveway. He can certainly pay for this G63
The dealer asks him if he has owned an MB in the past and he says No. The dealer replies saying that he has 3 G's in stock but he has to come back after a week and he can buy one if its still not sold. And also, he has to pay a 150K premium over the sticker price.

Needless to say he didn't go for it and will be trading his Range Rover for a newer model. MB lost a good customer.

From what I can tell, most Canadian manufacturers really frown upon market adjustment or mark ups on new vehicles.  Now they can get around this by adding a bunch of accessories, coverages, and other BS to run the price up, plus of course the dealer admin fee's.  If it's a used car, it's whatever the market bares and the manufacturer has no say in that.  So if that dealer said that they have 3 G's in stock, and he was talking about new vehicles, I'd say Mercedes Canada would like to know that one of their dealers was doing this, but more than likely he was talking about used stock, in which case it doesn't surprise me at all that it's marked up that high.

I remember they said that range is with 4 adults and several hundred pounds of gear in the back. But no towing.

So guess the real-world range could be better with 1 adult and nothing in the back (scenario for a LOT of people driving trucks in the GTA)

Edit: Just read that the EPA estimates based on a 1000lb load in the back

That's not new, hence why they can mark it up however they want.

Mark ups are insane out there…

Some Canadian dealers were asking ‘$30k’ adjustment fee for people ordering one….

Show me, post an example, because I guarantee you if it's not "preowned" Ford will rip that dealer a new one for such a "adjustment fee".

I work with a loyal Ford customer, he even has a GT500.  The Lightning was essentially unobtanium without an insane markup.

All over the FordLightning forums - feel free to dig deep, I’ve been there for almost a year now…

They even made a list of dealers that aren’t charging the ‘adjustment fee’…

Lightnings are a hot commodity, everybody wants one so some dealers are taking advantage - and I am going to guess the the used market will be boiling
