^thx buddy!

Car needs summer tires, found a set of Continental DSW-06 at Canadian Tire on sale so we grabbed them. We have these on Bella's BMW & I've been impressed with the overall performance of the tire & the tread life as well.

Only crappy part is 2 of the tires were made in 2017, one is 3rd week & the other is 4th week. Other 2 are 10th week of 2019. Is what it is & I'm sure they'll be fine... and for $610 all in I'm not going to complain.

gj...Continental sponsors The StraightPipes, so good on you for helping the cause.  :)

They actually advertise with a bunch of (most) outlets... the rest of us just choose not to be shilling tire salesmen  ;D ;D

Haha no. I like those guys, I see them often and am happy to see growth of local Canadian outlets.

Just saying - Continental and lots of other tire brands are happy to advertise with the majority of outlets. It's an excellent partnership to have.

Still waiting on the ballast, latest from DHL yesterday was "In transit to destination country"  :shuffle:

Car isn't plated or registered yet so we've been shopping around for insurance. I looked quickly before we bought the car & it was looking like it would be around $2800/yr, got a quote today from RBC $1560/yr

Not yet... it's not registered or insured, once we get the ballast & fix the headlight, then we'll insure & register it and get him a 10 day trip permit so we can take it to the mechanic to get the safety done, summer tires installed, etc...  AND, surprisingly he's been patient about the whole thing & understanding. He's such a mellow kid & doesn't show much emotion... kinda scary

Yeah, I thought so as well, so I called & got a formal quote from them & it was same as the online one. Mind you it's only comprehensive, so no collision on the car, or theft. It's a $2k car, that coverage would cost him another $1k per year, 50% of the value of the car. He can have this cheap coverage until he gets a vehicle that deserves full coverage  :rofl2:

Nice.  So it can go for safety, get insured, and finally driven?

Yup, that's the plan, just waiting on a family friend mechanic to be available for the safety. It's got an exhaust leak & we know he'll fix it on the cheap as opposed to taking it to Speedy for a new section of pipe. We're still gonna do a once over on it, the brakes are all good, but we wanna have a look to make sure there's no leaking struts or shocks.

If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

Car is plated & registered today. Insurance was a pain because they needed a letter from my insurance proving that he has been insured. So that took over a week. Safety will be next week. But for now he's got a temporary sticker & can drive around.

I have it on good authority that the 2010 GT will run the quarter-mile in about 16.2 seconds at over 86 mph.   ;D
