Looks great AD.
Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction, and skillful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives.

Picked up my car yesterday and drove home (500+ kms from Edmonton). Dealership was a little unprepared despite setting up appointment. Car drives as new. Only 15k kms on it. So that is good.

There was a pile of bugs that hatched into ridge of the trunk. They then covered the rest of the car. So I keep the top on despite the warm weather since I did not want them spreading. Hoped they would all go away on the highway.

Two tone interior of the GT.

Car runs and drives great. I have to get used to all the fancy gadgets on it. A little noisier than I thought on the highway (tires I think).

It snowed today and is expected to be cold all week now.  ;D

Beautiful buy, I'm sure you will enjoy for many years!

In my NB with no CC, my limit is 2 hours, so 500 km would be an ordeal.

Really like the ND interior, way nicer and more upscale

Don't know what the ND has for sound insulation but the NB has very little.  There's carpeting on the floor and behind the seats and in the trunk there's a thin piece of felt covering the spare tire and battery, nothing else.  The road noise just resonates through the trunk into the cabin and don't forget your head is sitting only about 3 ft from the rear axle.

I'd heard the RF is quite a bit quieter than the soft top but I don't really have something to compare it against. I would have gone top down but 5 hrs is a long time to do that for at high speed. Plus those weird ass bugs.

Nothing I can't live with. Its pretty roomy inside for what it is. They could have reared 6th a little longer but according to the trip computer I got 6.0L/100km which ain't half bad.

The RF is quieter with the top up. With top down the soft top is actually quieter at speed. The Buttresses on the side make it a bit noisier.

Yeah the gearing everyone comments on that. The first three generations struggle to stay in the 7's.

You'll get used to it. ;D

It figures the day after you buy an open car it snows. I still need to toss the license plate frame.

One can only hope. If not the shop vacuum is coming out!

I did take my boys out for a quick roof off yesterday before the snow made the streets too slick.

How to save money ... buy a small car with a tiny trunk for your trips to Costco.  ;D

For highway runs it really helps to use ear plugs. My trip from Edmonton to Colorado and back a couple of years ago was almost exclusively with the top down. Congrats on the RF. Great choice.

I've actually been looking at hitches ... for a small trailer or bike rack.  ;D

I need to find a source with reasonable shipping to Canada.

I think the plugs are what I will do as well.

The interior accent looks very red in photos but is sort of brown red in person. The 2021 one that I saw is more a red red if that makes sense. The 2021 was nicer but the price tag was literally double. Although I realized I literally paid 30x as much as my Mustang for this one.  :rofl2:

Its pretty much been terrible weather since I bought it except for one day but had the top down a few times. The previous owner put 15K kms on it in four years. I've got almost 1k in less than a week so far. According to the dealer he previous owner bought another MX-5 when trading this one in. Must have had deep pockets.

I like the Costco in Lethbridge with the angled parking.
Helps keep the idiots sitting in the parking lot with a signal light on waiting for someone to load their car and subsequently blocking traffic.
Maybe this should go to the small things that annoy me thread.

Thanks all.

Lethbridge Costco is so much more of a relaxed place than the ones in Calgary overall. And actually good parking lot. Small city living has some benefits.

The only small-town benefits are if the town in question doesn't have a Costco  :rofl2:

I hate that place.  Refuse to shop there.  Costco brings out the absolute worst in people.

I just noticed there is a CD player in my car between the seats. Changing the CD would be seriously awkward. It was dropped for the later cars in favour of a bigger storage cubby. Probably a better use of the space.  :D
