I don't believe they are called that anymore.

This must be a joke. That is way too new for Mr. Dent.

Not to worry. I also bought a really old piece of garage about a month ago - its sitting in the garage. It even has a hand crank handle.  :rofl2:

They're not called that anymore, but we all know that they're still Miata's.

Congrats.  That's a sweet ride, and yeah, far too nice for you.  :rofl2:

So the new ND Miata has more power which is a bummer. But then I looked the at dyno between the two. Should be fine given I paid half of what a new one is.

That is really cool. Congrats!

Maybe I just haven't been keeping up, but thought you still had that orange Fairlady? Sold already, or will be sold? Or you going full enthusiast with two RWD sports cars in the fleet?

I'd love a Miata, but don't think I'd fit in one and couldn't quite make it work as a daily driver. But there was a newer one (soft top) on winter tires that gave me a twinge of jealousy every time I saw it in the ski hill parking lot this winter. Guy was a regular and parked in the first row many days. No ski rack, so he must have been a snowboarder? TBH, I'm kind of surprised that a snowboard would fit in the trunk.

lol, come on Dent, that's way out of character  ;D Seriously, nice car, great spec. Driven these plenty as presser and always enjoy them, just great cars that are also fairly easy to live with.

Fairlady didn't last too long unfortunately. A certain family member that can't be named needed something paid off and the broken collar bone meant I couldn't drive it for a couple months so it went away (just after I got it sorted, of course  :( ) Similar to my old Triumph TR8 I never really got to enjoy it.

The fleet so to speak stands at:

1992 Ford Mustang
2017 GMC Sierra (wife's)
2005 GMC Sierra (oldest boy's)
Mystery old junker in the garage
and then the 2017 Mazda MX-5 after this weekend.

So oddly enough nothing fwd these days.

Are we in some alternate universe where Arthur Dent has a Miata that's 18 years newer than mine? ???

I really like the styling of the RF over the soft top Miata. The two tone interior of the GT looks real nice. It will be more like a targa roof over full convertible experience. With the BBS wheels (which I don't love but are fine) and Brembos it should mean sport package with the limited slip diff.

And oddly for me this is pretty much a fully loaded example with the heated seats, leather, stupid iPad in the dash, etc. Apparently its older system without Apple Car Play, Android Auto but not if I'd actually use that. It has a backup camera  :rofl2: I still think power windows are a luxury. If it can connect Bluetooth for tunes that is all I need. Just hooked up insurance on it so getting closer.

Who are you and what did you do with our Mr. Dent?

Seriously, great car!
