Sweet Car! I am not one for naming cars either, but Johanna is a great name as it reminds me of my (and my son's) favorite (and somewhat obscure) Disney character....

Congrats and nice colour.

But I had a yellow MK2 Jetta back in the day...
I love it when a plan comes together.

Looks great man, but again I would say that considering I have the same car and same color.  That being said I'm a little jealous over the black rims and black spoiler, mine did not come with those.  Kind of cheap of the dealer to put regular in your GLI.  I know it is fine but a car like this should always get 91 or better.

What I will be most interested in is how the fuel economy is for you with the DSG.  With mine being a manual I see 6's on the highway, and 8-9 in the city.  I think the DSG has the potential to beat those numbers.

Oh and don't feel bad about naming your vehicle, my red GLI is named Scarlett.

On the TDI forums they say the manual is slightly more efficient than the DSG, so I'd assume that's the case with the GLI too.

Great car, VW hit this one out of the park.

Drove across the city once. 85% HWY. 70km total. Averaged 7.0l/100km for the trip. Tach turning over a hair below 2,000RPM at 120km/hr
I am quite impressed with the efficiency. If you go easy on the go pedal, the car rewards you with very good fuel economy.

That was one of the disappointments with the Corolla hatchback. Even in the best possible conditions (warm summer day, dry road) and staying below 115km/hr I couldn't get it to do better than 6.5l/100km. The last couple of weeks of ownership saw an average above 9l/100km. My previous Subaru Forester did better than that.

Well with my manual Golf R when compared to the DSG they got a bit better fuel economy, if I remember correctly they were like 400rpm lower at highway speeds.

This is quite disappointing for a Corolla hatchback.  I would have expected 5's easily on the highway.  Do you know what gear you are in at 120km/hr, I assume it's 7th but don't know exactly when you get shifted into that gear.  I think my RPM is a little higher than that at that speed in 6th gear.  But I can easily get into the 6's on the highway.  So far it's been about 1L/100kms better than my Golf R, which is pretty impressive to say the least.

Congrats!! I'd say "nice car"...but I can't see it...you do know how to hold a camera right? At least you did OK with the interior shots.  I'd hate to see your Kijiji ads...gotta be horrible.  :stick:

So go out, and try that again...that's unacceptable in this here space.  >:(

Congratulations! The GLI is a pretty incredible value. I had one identical to this, except with three pedals, on order until just a few weeks ago. Ultimately decided on another Arteon as with my upcoming move I'm going to need the cargo space. Tornado Red is the right colour to get GLI in, suits it perfectly.

The 2021 added a lot of cool stuff beyond the black accents. The integration between the new MIBIII infotainment and the digital instruments is better, for example. The car can actually pull more info from CarPlay/Android Auto and show it in front of the driver now.

Looks great. Great to see a colour as well. A trick of perspective but it almost looks as big as the Honda van next to it.
