Joking aside, I held on to a then-new 2012 V6 Mustang 'vert for a "Drive one for your school" event, and I really liked it! The V6 sounds nice and has enough "pull" for a cruiser.

I enjoyed having it in my garage for a few nights! Pony pkg, white, identical to this:

I would stretch the budget a bit to get one like that.

This is in NS:

edit: LONG listing, that Z28 appears to have been pampered - firm knows these things well.

Yes, but legroom...

Does a mustang vert really have much more leg room than that?

4/5 of my family fits in there, heck Ican sit back there. You need a little consideration from the people in front. Don't think you'll achieve that with the Lexus.

Spent a week with one more recently.

She wants a Mustang convertible with an automatic, under $15k.

I'm 6'4" with long legs and my kids fit behind me in my 2012 when they were younger.

I'm 6' 2" and have been in the back of a Mustang.  It was quite a while ago but from what i remember the foot room was the major issue.  Certainly enough room for small kids though.  There's a lady a few doors down from me that bought a Mini convertible last year and takes her two little kids out all the time.  Kids in the back seat always with big grins looking like they're having a blast.   :drv2:

Yeah, putting some smiles on the kids' faces is the plan!  That Mini sounds like a hoot....I'd be up for one of those, but my wife comes from the school of thought where "bigger is better" in terms of safety (her first cars were all hand-me-down Buicks from her grandparents).

And if you venture up accross the border in Kebekistan, you'll find this one, an '07 with low km's for 13k$:

Of course being in QC fob and others will tell ya this is in reality Fiesta bits welded together with a washed title.

An inspection is always your friend, but there are TONS of V6 Mustang 'verts here in QC.

^^ Yeah a friend had a 2000 mustang . Sold it last summer. He was the original owner. It was a V6 manual. He didn't have to do much to it, just regular maintenance. The Mach 10 sound system crapped out though. It kept killing the battery when the car would sit not driven for a while. It was a common problem.
The older V6 is a bit agricultural sounding but gets the job done on those generations.
I think as the better weather comes, you will see more of these types of cars come up for sale.

If somebody really wants to sell a car, how bloody hard is it to step back a couple of paces and frame the entire car in the picture?  Better yet, drive to a park somewhere so you can take unobstructed view pictures of the car.

Look, I'm far from a professional photographer, and my photos would never stand up to pictures taken by somebody like TripleBob or Blueprint.  Yet even I know how to hold my camera phone in landscape mode and frame a picture so that it shows the entire car.

Call me flattered  :)

My fave in this search is another Mustang listing that leads with a Merc 'vert pic  ;D Don't bother clicking the ad, it's for a horrid Pep Boys Fox-body.

That green GT had a complete pic right at the end, but with open garage and wheels turned the wrong way. Front bumper just made it into the frame. Car seems worthy, but will need detailing - dirty cloth seats, etc.

That '97's nice.  Not a fan of the interior and top colour, but overall it looks pretty good.  Has the best looking wheels from that era too.  Just spray/soak the engine down with SuperClean and get out the garden hose and rinse the years of grime away and it'll probably look $1500 more expensive.  Amazing what a clean engine can do for a car.

As for the oldest newer style Mustang, get at least a '13 - the 10-12's have ugly taillights... :-X :hurl:
2013+ style on the left, 2012 on the right.

After venturing even further out from Moncton, you can find way more recent units in your price range, so that red truck-engined QC car I posted appears priced high.

The almost-local '97 is a GT with the 4.6 litre V8, so you get a bonus soundtrack improvement  :) Price leaves detailing budget, and yes these alloys were so much better than the '80s-ish triple spoke often seen on these. Cloth seats will be more comfy under the sun too.

Cloth seats will be more comfy under the sun too.  Agree.  I prefer the cloth as leather and a convertible can be problematic. The sun can be murder on leather
interiors. Unless one is diligent  to care.

The Green Z28 Blueprint linked is where I'd be looking, or even save a few bucks and find one with the 3.8L (96-02).

V6 Mustang convertibles are super common around here, and that $15K budget opens up a lot of options....Check the Toronto area listings and if there's something that catches your eye I am sure one of us in the area would be happy to check it out on your behalf.

Even 2010/11 Camaro Convertibles, while less common, are around sometimes for under $15K....not sure they're better than the Mustang, but they're a different option to consider at least.
