Little more progress, slowly but surely becoming a nice car again.....
Gave it it's first wash since I've owned it and swapped the new wheels on, amazing how nice clean wheels transform a car. Scrubbed the wheel wells with a brush and some degreaser, and then replaced more bulbs to get the fog lights and the underhood lights working....Now at that point where every feature/button/etc is working correctly.
Paint looks pretty good considering I haven't even attempted to polish it out yet, it should come up really nice once I get at it with the buffer. I tend to do that last though; next up will be to get mufflers back on it, engine bay cleanup and then scrub the carpet/seats.
I also got Firm Jr's C4 Powerwheels up and running, though I haven't shown it to him yet. I want to reveal it to him side-by-side with the life-size one....Impressed that with a fresh battery it's operating perfectly. Thing hasn't seen battery power for roughly 25 years....
One last little story to go with this update. The car came with a carcover, but it was garbage, so I had been looking around for a good outdoor cover for it. Found one (a nice high-end outdoor unit) on kijiji, brand new, for a really good price. It was close to me in Mississauga so I picked it up last week. The seller had a triple black C4, original owner and probably the nicest example I've seen, and a Mondial. Got talking to him and learned that he was a guitarist and song writer for a couple bands with a few huge hits (I am sure just about anyone here would recognize them) to his name from the 80's and 90's. Really nice guy, we're planning a cruise together for the summer. Anyway, today I am in the garage unboxing the car cover and getting ready to put it on the car....The radio in the garage at my grandma's is probably 40 years old and only gets a couple stations, so it's playing whatever random Toronto station tuned in, and one of this guys hits starts playing.....total coincidence but kinda freaky.
*Note hood is not latched in the photos (I was being lazy....shoulda latched it) and the suspension isn't settled from lifting it for the wheel swap.
