I think $73k is pretty decent value.  The problem I have is if the BMW 340M and Merc C43 are much sportier feeling and handling.  I'm okay with it being a little slower, but I want it to at least match those in handling and how it drives.  If this is just an IS350 with a V8 and no other upgrades it's a bit too much MEH for me.

Makes the Caddy Blackwings look so much more appealing.
For me, the V8 far and away trumps the small shortcomings
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

I get it and by no means is it as disappointing as the WRX, but just wish they had given it a little more than just a great engine.  At $73k, that's still a very decent value, but you really must love that V8 to pick this over the M340, C43, S4, and CT4-V Blackwing.

The V8 is what makes the car...and makes it way more attractive to me than the others in this class.
Lighten up Francis.....

I agree, that V8 is probably just slightly behind the supercharged V8 in the CT5-V Blackwing, and just ahead of the turbo 4L V8 in the true AMG C Class.  But it has probably the worst automatic of the bunch, dead reliable of course, but not really all that exciting.

I didn't think there was anything wrong with it and everyone who drove it remarked how fast it shifted.

In isolation.  But the ZF from competitors is much better
I agree.

But this is a good tranny. I really liked it.

Alex on autos did a balanced review on it. I think the only negative he could find was absence of hydraulic power steering. I suppose trying to measure performance / luxury cars in terms of 0 to sixties and G forces is like trying to choose vintage wine based on alcohol content. There is a LOT more to them.

I still don’t have a VIN despite a confirmed allocation.

That V8 in my Dad's LC500 is just divine.  So linear.  And the sound!
Yep.

One of the best V8s in the market.

Man I wish I could swing one of these. The more reviews I read/watch, this is the end of the line for cars with proper engines. Its all gonna be 4 cylinder garbage from now on that all sound like crap right till I'm forced to buy some electric golf cart.....sigh, I need a V8 sedan in my life.

This is exactly why I went out and plopped down a deposit. The only new car that really "excites" me is the Taycan, and that saddens me.

I approve of this message.

Ditto.

Why I bought my XJR. Not going to get cars like that ever again.
If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

possibly, especially from a dig. No matching the instant torque and 1000hp in a big EB. But for driving enjoyment and aural sensation? Jaaaaaaaagggggggg all the way.
