Is he talking about the "signal on" for city parking light setting in that respective direction? It's something Mercedes, BMW, VW and Audi cars have done for years, too.

Please, people... stop praising him.  Tell him all the reasons ownership will cause him endless duress.  The demise of his marriage.  Maybe kidney stones.  Whatever it takes, so he wants to off-load it in a hurry before he keeps "fixing" it with more stuff.

A bunch of work later, I actually drove the darn thing! The car is so seriously raw to drive, it's vastly different from anything I own and have driven extensively. It's decently comfortable, but very loud, smelly and also just plain awesome.

Looks like a hoot.  I think out of all your cars, this is the one I'd most want to spend an afternoon with.

Very cool.   They certainly have a few quirks to get used to, like pedals on the floor, those heater controls  ???   (Should I mention the shifter?) :-X

BTW, keep an eye on the clutch cable linkage adjustment, it needs to have some clearance and as it wears it gets tighter.  If it gets too tight your clutch starts slipping and you might need a new clutch by the time you figure it out. (BTDT)
Same goes for front brake pads, at some point before they appear worn out, they will contact a spring plate and get held apart at the top, then all sorts of fun happens.

You just let me know when you're in the area!

Oh for god's sake, the shifter. Bashes into my knee every time I go for first. One of my techs at the shop did know about the clutch cable linkage; we made sure it was adjusted properly right when we did the first tune up. We found a small oil leak that's luckily just a line that's available very cheaply. Fixing that, the non-operable driver's side door lock, and the passenger side window regulator. Hopefully will be enjoying it some more this long weekend.

These old Porsche's are awesome for that rawness... the cabin smells like fuel, oil & exhaust gas... no modern car will give you that.

That's why I put a Rennshift in mine...because the stock one is a turd.

This and a upgraded shifter coupler was, by far, the best money I spend on my 911.
