But the suggestions above change the speed from 4% (275/70) to 10% (285/75) out. Doesn't that mess up speed, mileage, odometer etc.? It may have a lot of horsepower, but it's not a fast accelerating vehicle as is. Won't larger wheels make it slower to accelerate?

Also the guy that posted that pick said, "Got the truck cleaned up and on level ground. 2008 with 2” spacer, 275/70/18 Ridge Grapplers and 18x9 Method double standards, +25mm offset."

I'm thinking the 2" spacer is on the suspension, not the wheel. Could be wrong.

Every pic I've seen with larger wheels generally has a lift kit of some kind installed. I don't want it any higher.

Spacer is typically a wheel spacer.  When it's a lift, they usually say lift.
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

Oh ya, 285/75R18 is too big, and unless you're lifting the truck or adjusting the wheel spacing, will rub.

Check out the official 'largest tire you can run stock for all generations thread': https://www.tundras.com/threads/largest-tire-you-can-run-stock-for-all-generations.9762/

On the 2nd and 3rd gen trucks with stock suspension, you can run a 275/60R20, which is one inch taller but same width as factory.  Let's compare a 275/60R20 to a 275/70R18.

275/60R20 has a diameter of 32.9" - one inch taller than factory
275/70R18 has a diameter of 33.1" - one inch taller than factory

I seriously doubt that .2" is going to make any difference, and you should be fine to run the 275/70R18's on your truck.

The way I see it, you have two options:  Stay with the stock 18" size, which is 275/65R18, or step up one size to 275/70R18.  Either way you can't really go wrong.

Some people put spacers on because they want to A) run a wider tire and don't want the tires rubbing the inner fender liner, or B) want the tire to stick out past the side of the truck.  I personally find the look where the tire sticks out past the side of the truck to be quite stupid, and I'm pretty sure it's also illegal.  It's not too bad if you're running some fender flares.  Then again, spacers are stupid, and you're adding in a point of failure on one of the most important interfaces on your truck (wheel to axle).

My biggest question on the 275/70 R18's is what that does to acceleration, handling etc. being 4% larger than OEM?

I doubt you will notice a difference.  3% is nothing.

But if you're losing sleep over it, go with the 275/65R18.  That's also the right choice.

The larger tires will affect acceleration and braking, but only slightly.  And then you'll get used to it and not even notice.

I ran tires that had a 10% larger diameter on a 4cyl Ranger and it was fine.  I bet you won't even notice 3%-4% on the Tundra.

Yeah I wouldn't use spacers, as the method wheels already have lower offset so will stick out a little bit more than OEM.

Spacers are no longer HTA compliant in Ontario anyhow

They've never been non-douchebag compliant, either.

Easy there.    :rofl2:

While I may or may not be a douchebag, I've run small spacers before on my cars.

Even made a custom set for the Supra.

I ran spacers on my (origional) Micra so I could ditch the 12" rims. Not the usual douchebag magnet material.  :rofl2:

I like the wheels you have now, really no reason to change them out
