^^ If you need beadlocks, then yeah, those aren’t too bad.

But buying beadlocks for cruising around town? Major bling.

How about the regular ones?

I don't think they are true beadlocks, just look like them.

Then might as well get some TRD PRO stickers too if you're going for all the truck 'bling'.  ;)

Can't do it, dude.  TRD PRO is stamped into the bedside.  Could get TRD Off-Road stickers, but that's kinda lame.  Only the losers who can't afford the full fat TRD Pro's buy the TRD Off-Road trucks  ;) ;D

Oh, Hey, one big tip that I got from hanging around on the Tundra forums.

Don't overfill your gas tank.  Apparently the EVAP system and charcoal canister are sensitive on the Tundra, and can be damaged if you regularly overfill the tank.  Just fill the tank to one click, and don't try to fill past that.

That was my point... having faux beadlocks is as bad as putting TRD PRO stickers on a Limited truck with chrome bangles hanging off the doors there.  ;)

I didn't even know they were bead anything TBH, just liked the look.

I'll be honest, I wanted the gun metal/titanium, and the bead-look ones are a bit too blingy as the rim is black and the bolts are silver, so I'm fine with the 316's below.

I don't like the fact the bead-look titanium ones have a black rim:

So should I go 17's or 18's? (remember staying the same overall diameter)

Good point GBA, thanks.

To be clear, I'm not trying to make it into a TRD, just wanted better looking wheels than OEM.

I would go with the 18s for tire choice.

17 or 18 is a tough question, man.  I have 18's on my truck, but they're also the stock tire, so they don't look super aggressive.  I think they look like they have the 'right' amount of sidewall.  A more aggressive tire would accentuate the sidewall and make the tires look beefier.

Then again, it's all subjective.  What I think is a lot of sidewall, you might think looks wimpy, and want to go with 17's.

Here's a pic of somebody with 18's and a more aggressive tire.  I feel like he went a little bit larger tire, 275/70R18, but it's in the ballpark.  Also, I think the Pro's come with a 2" lift from factory, so on our trucks, those tires would fill the wheel wells a little more.

I think an 18" rim with some nice 285/75 18s would look great and fill out the wheel wells nicely.

As I've said, I'm not looking to change the total diameter, so staying with 275/65 R18's.  I don't think 17's will work for me, so 18's it is.

You might regret that decision after you mount them... suggest you research what the largest size you can go without a lift or any other mods and then go in that direction. I did that with my Wrangler (knowing I had 3:73 gearing) and went as big as I could without going to an LT rated tire & staying P rated, ended up going from 255/70/18 to a 275/65/18.

I agree. Any aggressive tire in a dinky size looks silly. The 275/70R18's GBA posted look good, and I probably wouldn't go bigger than that as those look kinda tight clearance wise in the front.

Ya, the 275/70/18s look good.  Stock size is almost the same though at 275/65/18.
Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction, and skillful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives.

Ya, the 275/70/18s look good.  Stock size is almost the same though at 275/65/18.

It's the difference between 32" and 33" tires.  275/70R18 is a 33" tire.  The stock tires are 32"ers.

Circumference on the 32's is 100.5", and circumference on the 33's is 103.6".  That's a 3% difference.  Basically nothing.  You won't notice a performance difference, especially with your 4.30 gear set.  Your speedo will be 3% slower.  Not even worth correcting, that.

As long as you stay with the same width (275), and go no more than 1" taller, you should be perfectly fine for size.

But the suggestions above change the speed from 4% (275/70) to 10% (285/75) out. Doesn't that mess up speed, mileage, odometer etc.? It may have a lot of horsepower, but it's not a fast accelerating vehicle as is. Won't larger wheels make it slower to accelerate?

Also the guy that posted that pick said, "Got the truck cleaned up and on level ground. 2008 with 2” spacer, 275/70/18 Ridge Grapplers and 18x9 Method double standards, +25mm offset."

I'm thinking the 2" spacer is on the suspension, not the wheel. Could be wrong.

Every pic I've seen with larger wheels generally has a lift kit of some kind installed. I don't want it any higher.
