Nokian Hakkapeliitta R3

I’ve had these tires for over a month now and I have to say this is my favourite studless winter tire. Predictable, lots of grip on snow and ice, quiet on bare and wet pavement. The X-Ice 3 is still a great tire but the R3 is a few steps ahead overall. Paid just over $700 incl GST for 205/55R16.

I've had mine for two years now and I'm really liking it. I don't know what percentage is AWD vs Hakka, but my car is AMAZING in the snow.

i would say tires are likely more of it...you can put really good tires on a FWD are and it will be quite good...you can put crap tires on an AWD car and it won't make a huge difference...of course, if you have really good tires and AWD, it's hoon time.
