Funny, for a small residential street, we're up to three Mach-e's. Well, two without the dealer's demo. Close neighbour bought a really sharp silver one to replace his 2015 Audi A3 TDI (he opted for the fix while I went buyback with my 2015 Golf TDI). Further down a Mach-e appears to have replaced a Volt 2 - I say appears as the plug-in is always garaged so we hardly ever see their cars.

Adding to that my little street features a pair of Bolts, another Volt 2 and one Model 3.

There is a single truck on the whole street, a new Ranger. Our town used to have the highest per capita EV take rate, may still have it.

It will be a good competitor for Tesla Y Model.

Except that the Y looks like a goofy car out of a Robert Munsch book. I renamed it "Model Why?".

Saw one in the wild the other day parked on a residential street. Really weird seeing the Mustang rear lights on an SUV-type car thing. At least it looks more like a jacked up car than a traditional SUV. Also agree that it looks miles better (overall) than a Model Y.

I've been seeing quite a few of them and I'm shocked at how much better they look than I expected, I can't imagine anyone picking the Tesla blob over this

The 12-volt battery in the Mach-E, and other electric vehicles, can be jumped. But in the case of the Mach-E, that process isn’t easy. The Verge reported that the 12-volt battery in the Mach-E is located behind the front trunk, and to access it you have to open the hood—which is powered by the 12-volt battery.

In order to open the trunk, a panel has to be removed from the front of the car which exposes two leads which can then be used to jump the electronic latch for the hood. Owners then have to pull back another panel to get to the 12-volt battery. And instead of doing so, some owners have cut through that panel entirely

Explains why power hood latches are not a thing

Ford should read manual from Volt to inspire their engineers... You pull the hood (mechanical) latch cable and then, there is 2 posts to jump start even if the 12 Volt battery is located under the (electric opening) trunk / hatchback floor

Congrats! I just had one as a press car and it's my favourite EV on the road right now. Would buy one in a heartbeat.

Well yea.

Because you have several interesting gas cars to keep you sane.

But as an only car?

I don't think so...

Yes bought it. They gave me crazy money for my 2019 V60. $38,500, for a car I paid $26k in March. I took several test rides, up to 2 hours. Acceleration is crazy but the tires definitely limit the handling, very easy to get the rear to break loose accelerating out of a sharp turn. Very quiet and comfortable, a great place to be for longer trips. And a 100kW fast charger just popped out less than a km from my cottage, in case I need a quick fill up!

Ahhh, I was wondering the same thing as I thought the V60 was a company car... makes sense now.
