This will explain better than I could. I've done it before on a few leases.

https://www.kenshawtoyota.ca/multiple-security-deposit-msd-program/#:~:text=Multiple%20Security%20Deposit%20(MSD)%20is,up%20to%2010%20security%20deposits.

Interesting, so first example.

You can save $34.58 per month x 48 = $1,659.84 TOTAL

So $415 saving per year for giving up the possible investment interest on $5.5K. Why is it called '10 deposits' if you only get ALL of the money back at the end? I'm assuming you give all the money up front, which would be 1 deposit no?

Choosing a car based on reliability is like choosing a wife based solely because she is punctual. There is more to it than that...

Yes but the deposit equals 10 monthly payments. Agreed, one has to do the maths before deciding. On the Ford the rate reduction is 1.5%. On the Polestar, 1%. So probably not worth it on the Polestar. From memory it used to make a bigger difference.

$415 on $5.5k is 7.5% return. Not bad for basically guaranteed return.

What's that, 1.8% p.a.? Not bad for a savings account I suppose.

A long, detailed review (Jonny from The Late Brake Show)

P.s. at the moment it is the only Mustang with a "froot"  ;)

Give a man a fish, he eats for a day. Teach the man to fish and he wakes you up at 5 in the morning.

REAL-WORLD RANGE

Tesla continues to be a range leader in virtually every EV segment. Owners also benefit from Tesla’s exclusive Supercharger network, which is currently the most hassle-free network for fast charging. The Model Y has an EPA-estimated range between 244 miles and 326 miles.

However, Edmunds conducts its own real-world range testing on EVs and has found that Teslas, in most cases, don’t achieve their range estimates. For example, a 2020 Model Y Performance that Edmunds tested had an EPA-estimated range of 291 miles but Edmunds managed only 263 miles.

Ford’s Mustang Mach-E’s EPA estimates range from 211 miles to 300 miles. Edmunds’ real-world range test of an all-wheel-drive Mach-E, with an EPA-estimated range of 270 miles, resulted in an impressive 304 miles.

Winner: Ford Mustang Mach-E

From all the industry talk, there won't be much gas anything beyond 2030.

This week I'm doing a "cold soak" with a Soul EV, and not much to report - battery slowly goes down like a gas tank, and I'm running it on "Normal" with toasty HVAC. My loan is going to run out before the charge will!

They are getting there, but prices have to go down - and they will, in time.

Won’t happen...unless government heavily induces demand.
