I want an EV!  Hellsya I want one.  But I can't afford one.  Like lots of people.  I have a paid for car that has to last, and that's it.  If I was young and had a career on the go and was new car shopping, I'd either get a Prime model of some sort or an EV.  But, it's not in the cards for me, and that's the reality for a LOT of people, regardless of age.

Then we have resistance regardless of economic circumstance.  That's something we need to overcome.

But just reposting about how stupid I am for not blowing $40K on a used Tesla is just a bunch of condescending fuckery.

Move to Whistler BC.  I was there last year and holyshit there were more Teslas than other cars.  A whole town of friends for you.

Again just to be clear. I’m one of the guys here that totally welcomes electric vehicles and totally want to go that way for at least one of our vehicles in the future. Just waiting for the technology to improve.

But man does Smart Electric ever turn me off. I swear he must be a troll from big oil trying to turn us off the culture of electric vehicles. Haha

It has to make economic sense.  Or remotely come close.  I’m in total agreement.  I think we are getting close to that in 2021 or 2022.

I think the generation/model of what’s released from what’s coming out now will be pretty good.

Agree, not sure I can wait though...  :rofl2:

FWIW I used to get 1,000KM from the 55L tank of the Golf Wagen.

Choosing a car based on reliability is like choosing a wife based solely because she is punctual. There is more to it than that...

You read far tooooo much into my posts.   You noted a price point, I pointed out a car near that price point.  You're posting in a thread for a $60K vehicle, so it was sensible to offer a $37K alternative, which is closer to half that price, you clearly didn't find that a good fit for your circumstance, fine, but I am not at all insensitive to the need for lower cost EV's, I drive one, and have done so for 7 years, at $200/month all-in.

No, let’s go back on track! A good review here, just ignore the first couple of minutes when they discuss if it should have been called a Mustang.

Haven't seen anything remotely negative about this vehicle on youtube.

This young man's reviews are really starting to grow on me.  Doesn't try to be overly entertaining like the above.

I could have sworn I saw a white one out on the roads a few weeks back. And no dealer plate.
Thought they weren't available yet.

Yes I saw his review a couple of days ago. Hopefully Ford did a good job on this one like GM did with the Volt.

He is a great reviewer, but he has excellent content on driving EV's hard on the track his family owns, and he is a Smart Electric drive owner as well and loves it.  Top marks.

Saw a Mustang-E in the wild the other day (just outside Ottawa)...

I was underwhelmed with the styling ...  thought it would look like a cool fastback... but looks like a mazda soft cuv-something..

Another good review.

https://www.autoblog.com/2021/01/12/2021-ford-mustang-mach-e-road-test/

I wish everyone would ignore the silly name, and stop trying to judge it as a Mustang. Looks like a pretty good vehicle.

Yes, have my sight on a First Edition in Grabber Blue cancellation. I’m second in line but the person that is first in line is now having cold feet since Quebec pulled the plug on the $8k subsidy. 2nd possibility is a Premium AWD ER in white. Both are supposed to arrive at the local dealer mid Feb. Then the one I have on order in Rapid Red, due late March early April.

With the rapid changing technology, I plan to lease for 4 years. Using multiple refundable deposits, ($10k)the rate drops from 3% to 1.5%, roughly $1k/month all in. The $10k generates a return of 7.5% overall.

I can always buy it in the end but it will probably be obsolete by then.

Will be kind of my retirement present from me to me. 😊

Can you explain all of this. I have no idea what you mean.
