Winter Tire wear in the Fall
« on: November 05, 2020, 02:10:16 pm »
I know driving Winter tire in the summers is not recommended but what about in between seasons.
My Winter tires are on and it will be warm this week-end (up to 16c, maybe more)
How much wear will this put on winter tire? reasonable or can it seriousy damage?  I have not seen
info on this on the web.  I ride Haka 8 at 8/32 (were originally 12/32"  grooves) .  I plan to drive
around 250km on the week-end ( 9 to 14 Celsius,  maybe more).  I plan to sell the car next summer or fall
but need the tires next winter.  Wondering if i should cancel the week-end outing but there is not much before
i am stuck inside for most of winter. ???

^^

about the only time it would be bad is if you drive very aggressively...winter tires have softer compounds, much like summer performance tires, so when driven on hard, they wear quickly...drive like a normal person and there won't be any issues.

No burnouts and you'll be fine.
You're no fun.
