That's it! Damn, you're good. Car is a local GTA car it's entire life...Guess the owner was a fan.
There's got to be a connection!

Odd to be a fan of a local club in Seattle I think?

Yeah, there's probably a connection somewhere. As I said earlier, it's a 1 owner car, and was sold new right here in Mississauga - but maybe the owner had family connections in Seattle. He's passed away, but over the winter I will do some sleuthing to see what I can find on him - it's always nice to know who it was that owned a car like this for close to 60 years.

I dig the funny little tidbits of history on old cars.

I find this kind of stuff really interesting. My 560SEL had a "bumper sticker" on the inside of the trunk lid for Bishop Strachan School in Toronto, some fancy private school. The original owner's daughter went there.

The M5 has an "Atlanta Athletic Club" sticker on the windshield with a 2001 registration number that has been there for nearly 20 years, too. I kept it there for the sake of the "story".

As part of my research into the decal, I sent a message to the suspected yacht club.

Today they replied.  Really nice people who seem quite proud of their little club.  To say they were delighted with the message would not be overstating it.  They too are very curious about the origins of the decal.

They also insisted on sending Firm a new decal.

Oh..and they told me it's not a "flag" but a "burgee".    :rofl2:

My '78 Mercedes 230 had a Buenos Aires parking sticker on it from when the colleague I bought it from took it with her on posting.  I think I've already mentioned that she picked it up new in Sindelfingen and drove it back to Marseilles when she was posted there.

Haven't forgotten about this one, we did a bunch of work on pieces of it over the winter and now it's starting to come back together. Most of the interior is all cleaned up and back in, including a really nice Moto-Lita wheel left over from one of the Jags to replace the factory MGA wheel that was falling apart. The Moto-Lita took the original MGA center cap and fits great using a nice billet adapter from eBay.

My dad took the carbs off of it and tuned them over the winter for us, so those went back on as well along with a few other underhood bits that we took off to paint.

We put a new muffler on it a couple weeks back too (old one was shot). Now it down to a fairly short list; replace a couple brake hoses, bleed the system, re-paint the wheels and re-install the exterior chrome bits.

Hard to get any real photos because it's covered and squeezed between other cars, but here's a shot of the dash and new steering wheel.

Well, brakes are done, wheels are back on, chrome work is done and back on, interior is button up. Need to mix up some paint match and touch up a few nicks, and tackle a handful of other small jobs, but otherwise it's ready for the summer. Span it around a few times and it's one of the better running/driving MGAs I've experienced. Mechanically it feels very fresh and tight, starts instantly cold (with choke) and warm (no choke), shifts well, no weird noises, etc.

MGA is such a great looking car.  Too bad not much made today has anywhere near the lines it has.
