So much hate. I am confused with myself as I am digging this thing haha

I agree, I'm torn.

Come to the dark side.  We have awesome beer, coffee, steaks, ice cream, whiskey, weed, cigars, and, of course, cookies.
I'd rather be car-poor than house-poor...

This strikes as a lot more production ready.

Ah OK.

I'd agree...a more polished design.

Plus expertise in building heavy duty trucks and being one of the EV pioneers among the established automakers (even though they killed the EV1).

Yeah, about 100yrs of experience. I'm sure the door handles will be a simple mechanical design that work, ha, ha, ha!!

I actually like the design of this vehicle more than the Cybertruck.  I think they'll sell a boat load of these.  I wonder just how good off road it'll be, maybe that's where it'll differ so much from the Cybertruck.

Yeah. I agree.  Love the design.

Here is the compare with Cybertruck.

Choosing a car based on reliability is like choosing a wife based solely because she is punctual. There is more to it than that...

The bias on this forum against Tesla is palpable.

I think its more bias against one forum member than the actual brand itself.......

Neither truck exists, and yet the Tesla one is considered more vapourware because of the design..? Silly IMHO.

correct

but I also will believe it when I see it
If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

For me, its not even that, its the fact that someone believes something about a vehicle that doesn't exist and is willing to so easily fall on his sword about specs is just annoying. I mean, anyone can say they are making a product that does this, that, and the other, till its actually available, believe nothing.

Whew, glad you cleared that up, I was thinking it was Tesla that was the problem, glad it's personal and not factual.

In other news, good analysis of the hummer price point from Tom @ inside EV's:

Earlier in the thread I said the Tesla was LESS vaporware than the GM...it's been seen driving around LA on occasion.

FWIW, hard but fair criticism against Tesla isn't "bias".

I'd expect that the GMC has been designed to actually conform to safety standards that exist around things like lighting and stuff, unlike the Tesla. So in that sense it is more "real".

You have your opinion of bias, I have mine, that's all I'm going to say on the matter before you drag this into a never ending loop of you telling me my opinion is wrong.

FWIW I agree with most of your criticisms of Tesla, but this forum in general has the hate on for Elon, rightly or wrongly.

I'm not a personal fan of his, but I wish there were more entrepreneurs like him pushing the boundaries of vehicle design and thinking. Without Telsa every other manufacturer would be years behind right now. They are desperate to catch up technology-wise, and once they do, I agree, they will be streets ahead build quality-wise. But we need more forward thinkers, I don't see anyone else anywhere near as visionary as Elon Musk at the moment.

And just as our opinions of the word "bias" differ, so does the term "visionary".

Agreed. But so niche as to not matter to major manufacturers. Same as Gordon Murray.
