Yeah I don't think the Civic is poorly priced at the top of their model range, but at the bottom it seems like they left that price bracket and will let the others duke it out.

Low interest car payments killed the cheap car just like low interest mortgages inflated real estate prices.

Wow.  It is a nice car but….

If the $ 2k options were not included, its only slightly more than the cost of my GLi in 2019. I haven't driven a top of the line turbo 3, but based on specs, reviews etc., and hoping (?) it had much better than normal compact car sound insulation and muted road noise like my GLi, I would consider it a competitor and reasonably priced. Different benefits and features, pretty much a wash between the 3 and GLi, for example the 3 has AWD (I don't care), I have a mechanical LSD (great everywhere including snow) and adjustable everything including suspension (Dynamic Chassis Control).

Both are in a much different class than the Civic, IMO.

I hate all the fees and taxes, then seeing the "big number" !  :shake:

With taxes, even the base Civic is $30k.

Civic base is just under 25,000 which is just crazy, that was midsize money not so long ago.  ::)

No one's forcing anyone to get a loaded model though.

And you wonder why people are flocking to CUVs

Equivalent CUVs are still $4-5k more. Comparing Mazda 3 GT 2.5 Turbo AWD (not the Signature, there's no CX-30 equivalent) vs. CX-30 GT 2.5 Turbo AWD.

You can get a CUV for under $25k?  This sounds similar to the debadging scandal.

I mean, the subcompacts are fairly cheap. Kona, HR-V, etc.

I haven't been in a Kona so I can't comment on its size. The CX-30 is just a jacked up 3. HR-V is surprisingly big. Trax and EcoSport are tiny econoboxes, Encore is also tiny but at least nice. CH-R is small but doesn't pretend to be large, the UX is a nicer CH-R.

This is silly thing about it, once you get over 30 large, there so much choice, I'd take the Camry Base, over a slightly loaded Civic. they start at 27, and a quarter. This Civic seems to want to compete every category of cars, when you start cross shopping.

Is it me, In every video I've watch so far, this Honda Civic, seems to lose traction, when push a little. Umm. Maybe Tires?  ???

A few at dealers now. They are trying to get rid of the 21s, 2500 off. New 21 civic lx for around $20,000.

But would you though?

I wonder if I would, you are effectively buying a year old car, when you are driving it the off the lot. I know not really, but every time, I'd park beside a next gen civic, IMO, would only enforce that feeling. it wouldn't feel like a 2021, as silly as that sounds.

I sore my first new civic in the flesh today, it's very vanilla, it the most non descript car I ever seen. even beating out the previous corollas,  it is almost invisible. good luck finding that when you forget where you've parked. That last Civic that was over style, looks more modem IMO. this is dated already.

Maybe they should’ve styled it more like the CT5 if it’s too conservative for you.

Have seen a couple of these on the road, one black and one soft white. Both looked sporty, sharp and elegant, in both colours. Unusually low to the ground, when viewed from the Venzaurus  :P

I see a bunch at the local dealer but haven't noticed one on the road.  Not exactly a car that jumps out and says look at me, it blends in a lot more than previous models in my eyes.

I thought and said the same thing, the older civic looks newer. this is to bland and conservative.

I've seen a bunch now, and I like how the Accord's design language has trickled down to the Civic.
