It's probably not just about the fuel economy, but the character of the engine.  According to that Matty Maran video posted in another thread about the manual Gladiator, the 3.6L V6 doesn't have enough down low torque to hold 5th or 6th gear at 100km/h.  You need to going quite a bit faster in order to be in the powerband of the engine before being able to sustain 5th or 6th gear.

The diesel likely fixes that.

Unfortunately, the manual isn't offered with it, so yeah.  Moot point.

Pffft....a Tesla model 3 is faster to 100km/h, easier to get into by short people and probably would complete the Rubicon trail and the Fins and things trail better than this thing. Am...am I doing this right??  ;D
Lighten up Francis.....

Man, I’d want the diesel.

9K IS really steep tho.

But all that torque in that thing would be lovely.

All the power upsides of the diesel, none of the italian and environmental idiocy of the diesel

^^By the time you have done all this swapping on a new vehicle I bet you are  well past the 9 K. So it's not so" Just" .

Same for the supercharger in US dollars, then there is installation.
