Mercedes = Follower.

Tesla = leader, we've had a 17" touch screen for 7.5 years in our Tesla, and the firmware is kept up to date monthly, recently got a new feature (optionally turned on) to automatically keep doors unlocked if GPS location is "home", or keep charge door unlocked.
