2019 Toyota Avalon XSE vs Honda Accord 2019 Touring 2.0?
« on: July 01, 2020, 11:01:23 pm »
Hi:  Have a few ? about the Avalon....1) Did anyone compare it to a Accord Touring 2.0?What made you chose the Avalon? I live in Ontario can not seem to find many available...why is that?I? I'm leaning towards the Avalon due to thinking the V6 will outlast the 2.0 turbo over say 6-10 years & if I'm right the resale value of the Accord could take a big hit??Also the Accord seemed to ride rough with 4 people in it...great handling...but the ride was not so good.....willing to give up a bit of handling for more comfort!!!Thanks again for any advice & stay safe & well everyone!!!

An Avalon is a class above an Accord since it is larger and more luxurious. They don't sell many which is why they're hard to find.

Why aren't you comparing the Camry V6 vs. Accord 2.0T? Those are direct competitors. A Camry XSE V6 is the sporty version, XLE V6 is the more comfort oriented one.

And yes, the Toyota 3.5L V6 is bulletproof and proven, whereas the 2.0T in the Honda is unknown.

The Avalon hybrid would be the way to go IMO.

They never sold it here though.

Tried the Camry XSE 2.5....the seats were bothering my back to firm & the adjustments did not help!!!

No shock there...the XSE has sports seats, doesn't it??  Or is that the TRD?

Never looked at XLE are the seats different???Feeling a bit dumb but not trust the sales person as thinking the "Luxury" verison might be too soft for what I'm looking for. in terms of sportiness!!

Do another test drive...only way to find out.

But the Avalon will definitely have more comfort.

Agreed.

I've seen some used ones with staggeringly low KMs.

If comfort and luxury are the priority then it's the Avalon all day every day.  It's a Lexus in casual Friday attire.

Does anyone have cooling seats ?
Ventilating seats is what most cars have , just a fan to blow air though the seat

The Mustang has cooled seats. Uses a peltier cooler. So, I'm guessing a lot of other cars have actual cooling.
It was a "cool" feature that I really wanted to try, but it turned out to be meh. It's a weird sensation; it cools your butt, but your back is still sweaty. It's okay, but not a must have for me.
