My usual statement is if you have to ask you can’t afford it.
But, it’s not like this is some ten year old RS6. A 2017 with 30,000km?
Should be just fine.
Now if you’re planning on keeping it beyond 5 years I’d think about it....
Reliability is but one metric. One needs to weigh that with what they want.
I know. This is usually my modus operandi too. But I am like
right on the cusp here...I’d be comfortable so long as I’m not dropping $5-10K a year in additional maintenance expenses.
And it’s a land barge, not a toy I’m taking out full rip looking to sew some oats with. It’s going to get treated well.
5 years would be a minimum commitment. Hell, the payments are going to be that long.
I like Lexus. I think it’s a great car...haven’t tried an LS but I’m sure it won’t disappoint. But buying one seriously diminishes my buying power...Audi is kind of an in-between, right in the middle of MB (high losses in resale) versus Lexus. Beamers are somewhere in the middle ground too. I’d feel more comfortable owning this A8 than either say a 750I or a S550.
But to get into the LS I’m down into a six, seven year old car with way more miles on it. CPO doesn’t really matter, unless a local Toyota guy can service the warranty.
