Thanks for the comments guys, yeah I decided to take the good camera with me.
A. How was that FZ09? I've got 8 yrs on you...am I officially too old?
B. How's the Tiger in comparison? Slower, sure...but overall? Gotta be a totally different riding experience. Or not enough time on it yet I suppose. Are Brit bikes at least better than Brit cars?
C. Damn...your pics ALWAYS look so feckin' nice. Too bad Chaos wasn't nearby...anything you seem to take pictures of could sell without the obligatory YouTube vids. You've got a gift for sure.
The FZ-09 was really, really good. I had done a few mods such as a full ECU flash, exhaust, custom suspension etc. So it was pretty much perfect, I was very sorry to see it go. I still think it's one of the best engines I've ever heard/ridden. BUT it was a pure hooligan bike, and I'm getting older and slower ha ha, more aware of my own mortality. I get more thrills testing myself off-road than I do weaving between people looking at their phones.
The Tiger is for a different purpose. It's slower, more comfortable, quieter etc. but it's incredibly capable off-road as well as on. It actually sounds way better than I expected, as the firing order makes it sound like a twin rather than a triple, so it has more character than the regular 'whirring' Triumph triples. It has: 888cc, 94hp, 64lbft torque, tubeless tires (which was a change over the Tiger 800), Showa adjustable suspension, Brembo Stylema brakes which are phenomenal, ABS and cornering ABS, Traction control, 7" TFT screen, and six riding modes that help switch stuff on and off for riding off road, rain etc. Last night I was using off-road (not off-road pro) which allows for a little bit of slip before reining you in with it's safety net, immense fun! (Pro turns all the electronics off)
It weighs about 450lbs, which is about 50lbs heavier than the FZ, which isn't too bad. It is high though so slow maneuvering takes some getting used to. It also has one of the best quickshifters (both up and down), which I haven't used yet as I'm still running it in.
So yes it's way different from the FZ, but I needed a change, and I love being out in the wilderness and being able to explore more.
This review got me hooked on the previous gen bike:

This won't be a garage queen, I'm quite sure I'm going to be dropping it a lot ha ha! (More protection going on soon) But it will stay with me for a good few years.
