Kinda my thoughts too. For me the 4 cylinder is no bueno in a large SUV so it's starting at $80,000 for the 6. $7000 more than the starting price of the BMW X5 xdrive40i, for example.

Now, that being said I'm sure theGV80 comes in much better equipped. But still.

Yeah, but a fully loaded Genesis is better than buying an X5 thats not an M.

2021 Genesis GV80 Pricing
GV80 2.5T Select: $64,500
GV80 2.5T Advanced: $70,000
GV80 3.5T Advanced: $80,000
GV80 3.5T Prestige: $85,000

That is more than I thought it would be. Need to drop $80K for the V6.

that's really cheeky pricing imo but it's one of those vehicles that could be compared to a variety of different vehicles.  x5 doesn't have a third row and the x7 is really expensive.

q7 55 progressive is 75k.  lexus ex-l with luxury package is 67-70k   why would anybody spend more for this?   these both have 6 cylinders don't they?

i think the mercedes gle is mid 70s for a 6 cylinder 3 row.  sorry genesis.  GL

The X5 has an optional third row.

I think lease payments will determine how many copies will be "sold". From the technical standpoint, something with a V6 (DI + port injection) coupled with a PSD would be calling my name first  :P

Is it?

Of course not!  ???   Those X5s even with the measly  ;) I6 T are awesome units.  Then add the power of BMW financial with leasing incentives particularly with current lessees and this Genesis doesn't stand a chance.

I am stunned at that msrp.  A msrp that the Genesis' business model won't move from.  The Koreans are pretty sharp ppl.  Perhaps they forecast CAD turning to dust in very near future like I do so they are anticipating the exchange rate.  Regardless, this unit is DOA as priced.  Shocking, because they don't have enough volume with the sedans to sustain a brand.
