Motorcycle Gear Thread

I had a look for a thread, oh well, can't find one, let's start it here. Post pictures of all your new purchases! Road, dirt, whatever.

I just bought these Klim Switchback pants, for doing dirt roads and stuff. Places where I don't want to look full MX, but also where jeans aren't appropriate either.

They fit great, can't wait to try them on the bike. And they actually have usable pockets too!  They go very well with my Carlsbad jacket, which I absolutely love.

Klim is almost always a solid choice.

they do look good, but it may vary by body type...Klim looks good on Bob, but i may need Kfat.   :)

Klim makes fat pants too.

My contribution. Forma Predator 2.0 boots. Very heavy duty with double hinged ankles. If offroad you want something that protects your feet/ankles. Having a 250 lb  bike slam your foot against a tree is not a place for shoes/light boots. Forma is relatively new but good value if you catch a sale at Rev Zilla.

^^ I like oiled leather boots. I wanted a pair of Gaernes for dual-sporting, but never pulled the trigger.

Hey Bob...have a look at the Forma Adventure Boots (low).  Same style, great boot.

I have, believe me I did a TON of research, took me forever. I think the Belize are a tiny bit stiffer than the Forma, plus the toe box is smaller internally. Also I have loads of A* boots already so I know they fit me well.  Those were my second choice though, better off the bike for sure, but slightly less support for standing for long periods.

^^I have a set of Forma gore-tex road boots.  And a set of Alpinestar Tech 8s for off-road.

But at heart I'm a Sidi slappy!  Every one of their boots I've owned has been great!  But man....they sure charge a pretty penny!!

I once had a pair of Sidi crossfires which were good except but they didn't fit my feet as well. I have a pair of old Thor 50/50s for when I go out for fine dining. They look  similar to those low Forma adventures. In fact I wouldn't mind the tall adventures for casual off roading, I think those will be next. Oh and I still have some Alpinstars Tech8s as backup in case I soak the Formas and I am out for the weekend somewhere. My footwear collection is as bad as my wife's shoes..

Sidi are too small for my feet.

So to add to my collection of ADV stuff, I finally found the A* boots I was after, so picked up these:

They fit perfectly, and the soles are stiff enough to stand up for a long time. Love them so far, as they fit my feet really well.

I also picked up an Arai XD-4, which seemed to be the highest rated ADV helmet out there. It fits really well, vents well too. Again, really happy with it. I picked white as it goes well with the tinted visor, and I also might get it painted over the Winter.

 :)

Hmm.. Might leave the front white, and get the company logo on the back.

A KTM and an Arai in the same weeks? The assimilation is almost complete! :)

Nice helmet! Had an off road version before...great helmet.

I've been an Arai slappie for a long time. I even had my 1993 Arai "Harada" replica helmet re-certified once at great expense (which they no longer do, sadly).

They really do make fantastic helmets...but you sure pay for it!

Congrats...real nice choice.

I'd get a decal kit (about $50 or so) just to break up some of the white. There's a place called Hyena that made some really nice kits. Could match to any bike or graphic color you want.
